Update.....!

Friends,

I picked up my papers y'day. every thing looks good.

No worries till next year!!!! hopefuly I wouldn't have to go for 8th yr extn and then visa revalidation and......:) Let us pray for our I-140/485 approvals .....!!

Question for those who already got their passport stamped (or those who might know the answer to this) :

is there anyone of you who's a citizen of one of the countries required to go through the special registration program ?

(Afghanistan, Algeria, Bahrain, Eritrea, Lebanon, Morocco, North Korea, Oman, Qatar, Somalia, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen)

The reason I'm asking this is because I had my revalidation rejected last year because of this (they said that I had to get my revalidation abroad). I ended up making the trip back home and getting my revalidation at the US consulate (it took 3 long weeks to get it.. needless to say it was very hard negotiating that much vacation with my employer..).

To match the max 6 years allowed under H1b visa, I had to revalidate again my visa this year (sent all the papers in March 2004) and I'm a little scared of getting back the same answer I got from them last year (get it done by the consulate).

If you're in the same situation as I am and have already receive a positive answer from them, please let me know so that I can get some sleep :eek:

Mine is 8th year extension. Money Order has been encashed on 03/30/2004.

Did you send barcode DS-156? I mean the actual Barcode number or just the space for Barcode?

I sent the Bar Coded DS 156 form. I filled online and as well as took print outs and sent it.
 
Hi Guys,

I was silent reader. I send my passport to st. louis on March 15th and received it today. It stamped on May 11th.

Fedex website shows my packet is on its way... will update once it receive it

Address change on Prepaid envelope..

Hi All,

I needed to change the return address on the envelope as the address which I gave initially is no longer good for me.

I faxed a request to Visa office and I hope they will make sure that they
send the passport to the new address.

Has anyone been in this kind of situation?

Does address change work?

Hey aloof

Why dont u try to contact Fedex give them the airbill # and ask them to deliver it to new address instead .
 
I used USPS and it seems they are not that organized. They cant promise me that this can be done.

I am not sure, but I dont think DOS will change your address. If you have the tracking number, you can track down the shipment. If you think it is arrived, go to that postal location and pick it up personally. If you are in a different state, then I can understand that it is really tough. But I think that is the only way.

I got my passport stamped during first week of May and i don't belong to any of the above mentioned country.
Don't panic; everything will be OK.

Receive date at SL was 3/18.

Passport on its way....

Change of return address request went through. They are sending passport at my new address.

Received stamped passport today (which means those who are in the same situation as I am, i.e citizen of a "special registration" country, don't have to go abroad to get their visa revalidated, at least for now... :rolleyes: )

Change of address

I am also in the same boat. I went through all revalidation threads and found the following solution posted by Jaxen:

" Fax your change of address to
Fax: 202-663-1608 (with enough details so that they can track your application)
However if you have sent a self addressed envelope with old address, you should notify FEDEX or USPS about the change of address and the particular tracking number.
"

The above post was a reply (Jan 2004) for Swordfish's post. I tried to get more information from Swordfish (sent personal msg) that which procedure he followed.

Did you send address change request to the same fax number mentioned above?
