Since we all are in the same boat, I think we should update this thread as well. It would be nice to see any development updated here, as everyone can Benefit from it.
I think, since S_Reddy had his FP current... he was approved. People like me whose FPs are more than 15 months old have to wait for FP notice. Evidently, the LUD are good for us.

Hi Guys,
What is back ground check ? I had an infopass appt on tuesday(yesterday) and I spoke with an IO lady. She told me that my FP expired and names check,security clearence are fine.I called up customer service today and requested IO to send request to TSC for new FP. She sent a request to TSC and told me that my background check is pending since aug 2004.
There was a LUD on 7/7/2007 on my I-140 which was approved on 1/12/2005
Any idea what's going on?Why two IO were giving different information ?
Did any one in similar situation?

Please read from the beginning of this thread to get insight on what is going on with LUD changes on 07/07/2007. My case was stuck in Name check but still got LUD updated. I read many places in the forum that cases with "Name Check" pending for more than 6 months are eligible for Approval. Black hole... no one knows.....

I think "Allocated Visa Numbers" is a myth...I saw a posting from a dude who got approved this afternoon and he had an infopass appt. in the morning. The IO told himthat there wasn't any visa number assigned to his form and he should expect approval in October.

Asked my information:
She said everything is clear NC/SC.
Then I asked why is pending:-
She said don’t know
I asked Is my FP is current?:-
She said Expire.

Now my I-140 LUD again changed 07/18/07.
So guess what:-
When we all have LUD change that mean :IO have assign the visa and it ready for final pickup.We all know PD is only on 140 .So they may be arranging in order or done some changes and save the information.

I also had LUD on my approved I140 and first AP approved in 2005 on 07/14/07. I was cautiously optimistic, but my lawyer contacted IO in Texas directly and told me on Monday (07/16/07) that my namecheck is still pending. This information was confirmed during an infopass appointment on Tuesday (07/17/07).
I went to an infopass appointment to ask for a FP notice because my FP expired. An immigration person told me that the FP notice would not be issued until I have my namecheck cleared. "What is the point of issuing FP notice if your case is not ready for approval anyway for security reasons?" My understanding is that there will be no approvals (or FP notices) for I485 with pending namechecks. So, if your had your FP expired and you get a new FP notice you are all set: Open a bottle of wine. However, if you have expired FP, LUD on approved forms and do not get a new FP notice then it does not mean much. Someone was looking at your case but that is pretty much it.
There is always hope and I want to be mistaken in my conclusions but I am not expecting a GC any time soon.
