Good to know the info. Can you please let me know what exact information they ask to find your Passport? Is it the passport no. only?

Only PP number. I think they will stop giving that information soon coz I m pretty sure lot of ppl will act on reading my post.

VISA status in DC

Guys,
Keep your cool. Many have used this number. They can put you on hold for quite sometime, and responses depend on the operator. Some are very friendly and some are not so friendly. Also, they can ask for your DOB, PP, Name anything which helps them.
You can ask for your receipt date in Washington, and they can even tell you what date they are currently processing.
Best of luck, and keep posting the responses you get!
 
Calling DC Visa Processing Center

Guys,

I would discourage anyone from calling unless you are 8 weeks into processing. I called and waited for 30+ minutes, and the lady did not give out any information. I tried to convince her in all ways possible, saying that I dont have conf. about my passport reaching etc etc... but she did not budge. :(

I am just going to wait it out till it is 8 weeks.

Called Washington

I called Washington DC, after getting worried seeing some people who have filed later and getting their passports back stamped. The lady sounded kind enough and immediately asked my passport number. She confirmed that they have received it but denied knowing when it would be done and sent. She asked me to wait.

My hunch is with the disk issue, they dont have idea whose all money order was enchased, and so they will complete all the remaining guys (applications received before 7/16) and they find out the difference of the money and make sure that they have received money from the people during that period of loss. Then mail them. I guess we will have to wait till all the applications till 7/16 finish.

It looks like Washington is first rejecting the June ones where they are finding some faults. It is becoming very scary. I hone none of us have any issue.

Does it say what date the application was actually processed, when you get your passport back from them.

What time did you call yoginm73?

Hi,

I had applied for my revalidation on 06/28. St louis date is 06/29. MO was cashed around July 10. I tried calling several times and finally managed to get a convincing answer from a kind lady. I started by asking her I am not sure if my pp had reached Washington. She got my PP # and told me that myself and my wife had our visas approved and the stamping would happen either today or pretty soon and we should be getting our passports. She would talk no more. I checked with fedex and couldnt trace my package. So guess they are still working on it. But as the previous replies has mentioned no one is ready to give a status but all they need to give us a status is our PP #. I had called 3 times earlier and spoken to different people with no luck. This time I called the same # and select option 1 and then 0 and I was connected instantly. Maybe because it was Wednesday and they take queries only from 11 or something. Anyways Just thought I'll update the group so that everyone can get this info.

PS: I had requested for my application to be withdrawn but the lady told me that since my case was approved I would get the stamping and they will return my passport. The withdrawal application would have no effect now. I had submitted my application for withdrawal 2 days back.
 
Got H-1B Visa

Hi Guys,
I have been following this since last 2 weeks. I applied for visa revalidation (H-1B only) on June 28th and got it back with stamed visa yesterday. The photo is clear, no issues.

Got the original I-797 approval as well as the original I-94 form that I sent along with passport.

One question: I am guessing since the I-94 is a departure/arrival info, they wouldn't change it. I have got back the same I-94 I sent to them. Can someone confirm that this is how it should be.

I have a Question for you on I-94. For example I had a I-94 stapeled to the passport which expired in July 2003. Now I had the I-94 that came in the botton section of I-797 notice of action.
So what do you mean by you got the original i-94. Can you please clarify?
