Jobs of GC Holders and US Citizens only

First of all american workers are an immigrant except for Native Indians. This is the fact. Most of them immigrated few generations before.
Every Tech sector in US has contibution from one or more recent immigrant. Just because a person got a Green card or will be getting it sooner does not mean people with non immi visa like H1 & L1 should not be allowed to work.
Most of the lawmakers knows the contribution from immigrant community towards the development of this great nation. Few lawmakers raise issues against immigrants to satisfy the jobless americans. But, immigration will never be stoped for Employment based in tech sector.

Too late honey ... the corporate CEOs have already tasted the sweetness of outsourcing and what-so-called "cheap immigrants"! Where do you think the money that fund their vacations and corporate jets comes from??? THE MONEY SAVED from outsourcing their operations or hiring "cheap labors" (a.k.a immigrants)!
Corporate CEOs don't care if the money that goes to their pockets were generated by US citizens, GC holders, or outsourced operations.

This is what I think...
The so-called Indian corporates such as Wipro, TCS and Infosys are selling Indian and Indian skills cheap thereby allowing the US Corporates to enjoy the benefits through outsourcing ... why, pray why, should the same skill / job done by the same person be 10 times cheaper in India...
(not very unlike the sweat shops that Nike uses in China to make shoes ... sweat shops thrive because the people who work there dont really have an option - like us H1-B guys if I may say so) ...
dont tell me about purchase-power-parity or standard of living etc... the person doing the same job having the same skill deserves to be paid atleast the same if not less and is entitled to the same standard of living...
the cost of living in India and the US (or Canada or Australia or UK or Germany) is roughly the same (or varies within a narrow range) if the same standard of living has to be maintained
.. think about it.. the same person doing the same job in INdia gets 10 times lesser salary that s/he would get if he manages to get to the US ????
How long do you think it is going to take this person to start demanding much higher salaries... to do the work in India... and will US Corporates that outsource now like it if this disparity, that makes outsourcing attractive now, reduces
Outsourcing will be a SHORT TERM FAD like so many other things.. and will FADE away as soon as it came... it is either that... or some most low-end jobs will be shipped out ... which is detrimental to the economy of INdia (case in point Malaysia)

Sorry mr.selfishjerk, not everyone thinks like you do. I have a greencard and there is no way I will vote to to ban H1bs or any other work visas.

It's an unnecessary discussion. Who cares what we think of something ? Did Senator Tancredo asked the GC holders for his support (or) Did Vajpayee asked indians in this forum to support H1 visa ? The fact is more than 90%(perhaps 99%) of this forum members do not depend on H1 anymore (even though a few of us still work under H1 just to be safe). So we all belong to the same category.
