Its great to have a us passport

Guys, Once I am a US Citizen, I want to live with a self-concept of US citizen. I want to demand my rights the way a native US born demands.

As an example, if you look at jail population, more than 70% of it is black and hispanics. But nobody dares make such rules to have extra scrutiny over blacks and hispanics in this society because they demand their rights not to be discriminated against. Can you imagine government making a case against blacks/hispanics that since 70% of people in jail are these two races, it would make society more safe if we scrutinize these individuals more in america?

By a similar token, Terrorists are very very minute fraction of the populations where they come from. Its my understanding this is the 1st Nigerian directly involved in terrorism and now all 150Million Nigerians have to pay for it.

I want to emphasize once again, I absolutely have no problem with extra scrutiny as long as everyone else goes through it.

We are not asylees anymore guys and we must live with the self concept of US citizens.

Well lazer, many Hispanics and blacks are profiled in bad neighborhoods. So this is everywhere. As mr John just said, we all want to be safe so I don't mind them taking extra on people from those countries. It's usually one person ruining it for evryone.

Back to the place of birth issue- we don't have to list our country of birth? US passports have either a foreign country or a US state. I haven't seen any cities.

The US State Dept will allow you to list your "city of birth" as place of birth in US passport.
(only for those who were born outside of the USA)

For example, if you were born in Paris, France, you can request that your US passport be listed as
"Place of Birth: Paris" instead of the usual "Place of Birth: France" ..........

The State Dept's Foreign Affairs Manual clearly states how this can be requested by the passport
applicant. See "7 FAM 1300 Appendix D" under US Dept of State Foreign Affairs Manual
Volume 7 - Consular Affair. .

However, the passport agency will always advise you that you "may" encounter difficulties trying
to enter a foreign country with a US passport showing "city of birth" as place of birth...

And the reason you can only use city as plAce of birth is due to the problem of countries ceasing to exist like czechslovakia etc.

depends on the passport agent. You can ask that but unless the State Department instructs them to do so, they wont.

What if the first question the POE officer asks you while scanning your US passport is "What country were you born in?"
What will do then?

Yes they will list your city of birth if you request. But avoid passport agency. Here, you may face a stupid and nasty agent.Apply with NPC (National passport center) located in New Hempshire. To do so,you have to apply at post office.Don't forget to attach a requesting letter in your application.

Good luck.

Osogio....they will probably not list your city. Unless your country's name has changed or it doesnt exist! So its not as simple as you think.
