My naturalization process was smooth (passed interview test, got approved, rec'd N 445 so on...) and I got shocked as I was called by IO on yesterday 24th Sep that I dont need to come on my Oath Day 9/26/08 which is held in Los Angeles...I asked and she said I will be receiving the letter. Does anyone get a call like me?

Many thanks

I get calls from people like you all the time. :D

More seriously, no need to post your question in multiple threads..use main LA thread.

But should I come for the Oath Day as per scheduled ?

Hi

I'm stressful and I did some reverse phone to find out who it was the track log is Govt US with some address in Los Angeles. I tried to call USCIS 800 number but I cant get to real person response except auto-answers.

Should I go to Oath Ceremony tomorrow 9/26 or what can I do now to verify this postponement message is genuine from IO ?

Any advise is greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Firstly that really sucks...

Personally I would do this:

I'd call the ceremony location to confirm that there still is a ceremony tomorrow.

If you are unable to get to talk to any legit person from USCIS to confirm the call that you got, I'd go anyway as the USCIS staff will be there.

Best of luck,

that is a weird situation. May be it was a scam, may be a real call from an IO. Why wait last minute to inform you of the cancellation ? Did you ask that ? Did you ask what the problem was ? Unless you have other appointments for the day, just show up and see what will happen.

If your nat certificate is not there, it means that the verification process was not complete and oath letter was sent by mistake.

Let's all give Jordan a call and ask her to expedite our applications!!! :) :) :)

My ceremony is scheduled for tomorrow @ LA. I hope, I don't have a message @ home waiting mentioning the ceremony is canceled.

During the interview, I remember the Officer took extra care to verify my home number and also asked me for my cell number and told he most like wont have to call, but they like to keep it update, just in case. I was surprised, because, I always identified USCIS as addicted and restricted to paper notices and never bother with any other faster communication.

1485waiter,
It'll be all over for tomorrow.... Throw a big party and say good bye to the ugly uscis / ins.

Congrats!

Yes you were right, from day 1 with any corresponding immigration matters, I always advised by official mail. The IO mentioned to me, the letter may come later than the oath date so she called me!...
I submitted the casework for cali senator office, and the staff helped to verify the phone number but he can't get answer either
And he told me to come tomorrow
I show up tomorrow anyway, hope it was a stupid scam phone call...
Thanks everyone for participating and your advices

Hi Bob

As you said , you received "calls from people like you all the times". Did it mean you had same call before your Oath Day or what?

Thanks

No no..I joking :D..it was in response to your original post where you said
" Does anyone get a call like me? ". Your sentence structure made it sound like you were saying "does anyone get calls from people like me".

Hi folks,

I went to the ceremony today...queued outside for almost 2 hrs to get in. I already intended to ask the IO before everything as I came in. She looked on the list and found my name but the bad news was they actually pulled me off the list of the day (and I also saw many other names too...). She simply told me that perhaps 'Name Check' or something...You will receive the letter of notice within few weeks from today.

Im so disappointed for what happened but nothing much I can do except waiting...
Good luck everyone!

Sounds like your case was either randomly pulled or not completely verified while it was in oath. Hang in there..you'll get a new oath date soon.
