There is nothing happening or will happen until holidays are behind us and people get back to real work!

Retrogressing the EB3 numbers may be unfair to many fellow Green Card Seekers, but it does make logical sense. So far for whatever unknown reason, EB3 case were being processed faster than EB2 and EB1 categories. Almost giving impression that people with more skills were less welcome!

Now this will help to get these categories to hopefully move forward! NIW cases were being processed the slowest!

Let us hope that Hartford starts processing the cases faster!

I've been a silent reader of this forum for nearly two years. Found it pretty useful. Thought I would also contribute to help out others like me!

Here are my case details

I140 & 485 RD 10/1/2002 (EB1 - EA)
FP'd twice 12-2002 and 9-2004
140 Approved 12/16/2004
485 transferred to Hartford, CT 12-16-2004
+ on my 3rd EAD and AP (don't remember exact dates)

HartFord Interview

Today at 10 AM my interview was scheduled. I reach INS at 9:30 AM to room no 421 and after 15 minute i was called for interview. Person ask me Employment letter, Latest Pay sleep, Tax return for last two year.In my last year tax return i have lass amount as compare to my current salary .So he ask me did i get a raise i said yes and he stamp my passport. I came out form INS at 10:15AM

Hope to here good news for rest of the people wating for interview.Happy Xmas and Happy New Year.

Our case was transferred to Hartford on 8/23/04. My wife take a info pass appoint and went there on Oct 19the lady on the counter told our file just reach here. She didn't give any other info. :confused:
Today My wife take another appoint and went there again. Today the officer was very nice and he told her our file reached Hartford on Oct 5h, not assigned to anybody till now. He told our 2nd finger print report came on July 7th 04.

folks, this is a question regrading EAD application. I went to hartford local office in regrad to my EAD application and they told me to apply in chicago. I did apply in chicago and they sent me notice yesterday about biometrices in local ASC. I did give my fingerprinting for I-485 last november. I called the VSC number that they provided me in the letter and the customer service representative told me that they need separate biometrices for EAD!!!! I did not know about this. Anyway, I got appt. in February. Can people please share their experiences regrading EAD renewal? Thanks.
 
EAD Does Require Seperate Biometric FP/Photos

I am not sure if I wrote on this thread or another thread, but EAD does require Seperate biometric FP/Photos per new requirements per immigration laws.

I am surprised that your interview date for Biometric FP/Photo is so far away! When I had to do this in October, they were ready to give the appointment next day. So far I have done fingerprinting 4 times, including one for EAD.

Good Luck! I understand that you may not have an attorney helping in your case, else he would have guided you. If I am not mistaken, then the application form does mention this. I think they are try to streamline the process so that local Immigration offices can clear the backlog of interviews for immigration cases. They had issued new regulation/memo that they may give you EAD for more than a year(!) depending on their estimate of processing for individual cases.

Any other related questions, please do not hesitate to post here or send me a private message. For the benefit of others on this board please share your immigartion information, as to how often you have applied fpr EAD/FP and under what EB category your case is.

I was lucky to get temporary EAD at Hartford USCIS office beofre 91st day. I have yet not gotten my regular EAD whch I had applied to Hartford office on 9/23/2004 (3rd EAD). They had forwarded this application to Missouri Center!

Hi Mike, thanks for your reply. Yes, I have to wait for biomatrices for more than a months now. After the transfer of my case, I do not get surprised by anything now. I do have an attorney for 485, but just to file EAD, I do not want to pay 700 dollars from my pocket as attorney fee.

I did not understand one thing. What is the relation between reducing local office backlog and separate biomatrices? I misunderstood the whole thing. Please explain if I am wrong.

I am waiting to see that when you get an interview date!!! Otherwise, we just need to conclude that gpt_amit's case was just an isolated incidence.

Bimetrics to reduce Terrorism!

Hello Pibo,

My point was, that USCIS is trying to reduce paperwork by designating one center(at this point Chicago) to take care of one kind of immigration application. In this case, I-765. Biometric FP/Photo are ncessary to compare the digital images with possible terrorist suspects, on the fly(by computers). They have decided, that in order to reduce the local INS and regional center's workload they would issue longer term EAD in the first place, so you do not have to keep renewing the EAD every year! I-765 is one of the major part of their workload. To reduce the backlog of EB2/EB1/NIW categories, they have retrogressed the EB3 visa dates! Unfair to people in that category. Lately, this category was moving faster, as if to imply that people with master's/Doctorate degree are not needed here!! But the main reason for retrogression is that this category has reached its limit.

So the regional centers, upon completion of initial inspection of I-485 applications, are transferring these applications to local offices for interview. This has increased local offices' workload. The applications, that may be very straight forward or the applicant who is lucky gets direct approval from regional centers. Rest of us have to go through this painful journey.

Thanks Mike. I really hope that you get your interview letter very soon. I am disgusted with the process now as gpt_amit got his done and you did not. That says that they do not have any procedure. So mine may take indefinite time and I need to be stuck in the same state, same address for that time. And above all, I can not go home. Well, I can go home but not very peacefully as the fear of getting interview letter and not attending the interview will be in my mind. Anyway, what to do!

I will suggest that you go to the HARDFORD office and ask them how long will it take for you and if they assigned your case to any officer yet.
 
HartFord Transfer

I don't know How I got the Interview latter from INS Hartford. Twice I went to Local INS and sended a detail fax to JoeLiberman about my I485. I got my passport stamped but my wife 485 still pending at Hartford .I will pray for all of you

What proof did they require from you to give you your EAD before the 91st day?
 
Ok here is a good one for you

by the way my case was transferred Oct 31st 03

1st Senator enquiry came back they never received it until Aug 31st 04 and it is taking 1 year to schedule interview

Congressman enquiry came back
it was received in their office Sept 30th 04 and that it is taking 10-12 months it was received in a pile of 5000 cases???

what the heck are these immi officers doing they know nothing..
 
It is getting more and more rediculous by the day. I'm at the stage now where I am just trying to forget about everything and hopefully one day I'll go home and see a letter in my mail box. I can't stress myself like this anymore. I have my young children to thing about.
 
Got EAD!

Yesterday, I got my EAD (online approval said on 12/28/04). My Congressman Christopher Shay had sent a letter dated 12/16/04, received on 12/29/04. He had satetd that his office had contacted MSC and Hartford regarding my case. He kind of had a standard reply. You will get you EAD in 30 days. That is what happened! Wow!

His letter said that interview will be scheduled by July 2005!!!

Wondering if contacting Lieberman or Dod would help! Any thoughts please let me know!
