Hello,

I recently got my H-1 transfer to new consultant. Do I have to inform my old consultant about my transfer?
If yes than when do I have to inform?
I was not on any project with old company.

Any specific points related to it?

I highly appreciate your time.

No need to tell them.
They will anyway know when you quit.

Old company are marketing me for placement. I haven't join them so far.
Will they receive any notification from INS or USCIS that I have transfered my H-1?

Thanks

Thanks Greatguru,

If I dont inform my Old consultanting company about my transfer than they might continue to market me for placement. I have not worked for them, not even a single day and have transfered my H-1 within 30 days of my approval.

So if I dont inform how will they come to know about my transfer?

Need your advise in this matter.

Thanks

Thanks Ginnu,

I have got I-797 approval with I-94. Company B will start marketing me for placement shortly. Still waiting for SSN which I have applied about 3 weeks ago.

Looking for your response.

---------- SSN card will come in 3-4 weeks, just get a letter from SSA office that you applied SSN if you dont get SSN in 10-15 days
Looking for your response.
"If I dont inform my Old consultanting company about my transfer than they might continue to market me for placement"
----------- It is up to you to inform or not inform, as you are no more with them. If you feel that they should not wastage time to find a job for you then it is better to inform.

hey, how did u transfer ur H1 within 30 days of approval? as far as i know, u need 2 or 3 paystubs to transfer ur H1. was ur employer paying u even when u had no project? asking bcoz i am thinking of transfer too.

Thanks Ginnu,

I did receive a letter stating that I will be getting my SSN within 2 weeks dated December 14.

Once again thanks to Greatguru, GotPR and ginnu. I highly appreciate for your time and all your advice.

If you apply within 30 days of your approval notice than you can transfer H-1.
Thats what my consultant told me and based on that I applied for transfer under premium processing and got it. If you exceed 30 days than INS may ask for paystubs.
I dont know whether it works for everyone or may be I was the lucky one that INS didnt demand paystub. I didnt even had SSN so there was no question about paystub.

Hi Reema,

First of all -- Congratulations that you managed to get H1 transfer done that too with I94.

Only question is - when you got your first H1B approval from company A, were you already in US ?? or you entered US using H1B from company A and then successfully transferred to company B, within 30 days

Can you please clarify.

Thanks.

Paystubs for H1b transfer

Greatguru,

My wife changed her visa status from H4 to H1 in October 2006 but never worked for the first employer. She was recently offered a position with another company. From the date of hire (approx 80 days) she was on vacation and training but never on a project. I am just wondering if we need to provide pay stubs to INS. Is there any grace period for company change and is there anything that we need to aware of?

Thank you in advance.
