H-1 revalidation tracker in St.Louis/Washington

Hi all,
Please update status. Anyone gotten Visa revalidated in Nov. I am going to India Jan 18th and I am hhoping I will get my visa revalidated soon.

Resubmittal

My application was received before 1st of November but I got the papers back without stamping saying that another draft of $35
is required.
I have two questions.

1. Did any of you whose application was received by DOS before
Nov 1 send the visa reciprocity fees for $100 or $65.

2. I have sent the papers back wherein I forgot to write 221(g)
(required for resubmittal) on the fedex envelope. Does it delay
or cause any harm to case.

Please share you experience/knowledge.

What was your reciept date by St. Louis initially? When did you receive your passports back without stamping?
 
My H1 , wife's & kid's H4 were returned without stamping under "221 G" for sending inadequate fees.
I have to send an additional $35 per head towards MRV fees !

I had sent my H1 re-validation based on the old fees which was received at St.Louis on Oct 28.
I managed to speak with the Visa Specialist who said that they do not consider the post-marked date and it is the date when the package is opened for adjudication. Strange !!

My case is exactly the same. I got it back on Dec 27 and sent it back the same day with another draft of $35.

I wrote 221(g) on the envelope enclosing all documents but didn't write it outside(on fedex envelope). Do you think this may delay the process.

When did you send it back. Post a message when you get it back.

Adjudication Process

The process for adjudication (For H1 Revalidation) Starts at St.Louis or Washington?

USA_H1_to_GC,

St. Louis collects the fee from the applicants and forwards the application to Washington, DC.

Washington DC, receives the application and make a decision on it. If all the docs are in order, Washington DC issues re-validated visa.

My visa was expired on Dec’ 30, 01. I had sent my Passport and required documents for H1 revalidation on Dec’ 16, 02 and it was received at St.Louis Office on Dec’ 17, 02.
This morning I managed to talk with Visa Office and they informed me that “My Documents are received at Washington office on
Dec’ 31,02”.
Will my Visa be revalidated or they will send it back as they received it at Washington office exactly one year one day after visa is expired?

Yes we are in the same boat !
You should have superscribed "221 G" on the Fedex Envelope to avoid delays... hope you receive it without anymore hassles.

How many photographs did you send again ?? Two or One ?

I have not yet sent it... maybe I will.. this weekend.

I have couple of questions:

1. Is the fees for Revalidation $175.00 [$100 (MRV Application Fee) + $75 (Reciprocity Fees)]? I see some confusing replies on this forum claiming that they have to send in an additional $35 towards the incomplete fees?

2. When we include the Return Prepaid FedEx Airbill, we can take out the cutomer copy, right? Also, does FedEx provide prepaid Airbills or is it something that we have to affix the postage in the appropriate section of the FedEx package?

3. How many photos are required? 2 or 1??

Your information about the fee is correct. People who sent the application before Nov. 1 are sending additional $35 because fees increased on Nov. 1 . Earlier it used to be $65 and $ 75.
 
Change in Fees for Visa Revalidation

Hi Eager11,

Looks like i maight be in the same situation as you are in right now.I would like to know the time it took when you first sent your documents to St Louis till the time they were returned to you because of increase in fees.

I had sent my documents on Nov 11th 2002 and still waiting for them to send them back so that i can send them the correct revalidation fee ($100).I would appreciate if you can pass along any contact number of the visa office so that i can call them to check my status of my application.

Any Nov revalidations ...

Hi Guys/Gals,

Please post any Nov revalidation dates. Even if the reval application is sent back due to incorrect fees etc, please post the dates on which the application was sent and received back as it will help all the others to estimate the time frame when their application will be processed.

revalidation question

Hi,
I had sent my application and passport for revalidation on 5th nov 2002 (received at st. louis on 6th). A couple of days ago when I called DoS to inquire about the status of my application, I was told that washington has received my application only on 15 th dec 2002. The officer also told me that it will take several more weeks to process my application. Apparantly, the St. louis guys goofed up.

1. Is there anyone here who had a similar experience?
2. Is there some way to get washington expedite the processing of my application, since its they who screwed up.

any inputs will be greatly appreciated.

Which No. did you call at? Did you call at St. Louis or Washington?
I sent my case on 11th of Nov. and I will call them on Monday to check my status.
