FOIA -- Tracking in VSC

I wonder how is it possible that till Sep 30 receipt date everyone got these in 50 days and now it is taking so much time. How about initiating an enquiry?
What is your thought about this? Your request is marked as simple task,right?

nothing aoart from attorney fee and postage. if you have too much of papers they may charge you at most 25 $

Please clarifiy if the the FIOA request need to go through the attorney ONLY? can't the individual do it on his/her own?

can we use FOIA for pending cases?

Instructions on FOIA request form says
"Do n't use this form to determine status of pending application".

Then how can we use FOIA to get info on pending I485 application?

As far as I know, you are requesting a FOIP to get all the information attahced to you hoping that they will also send the pending cases information so that you can access your pending case information to figure out what is happening with yous case.
 
I requested copy of my I-140 approval & Labor cert in Oct, using FOIA forms, today I recieved mail from VSC containing copies of I-40 app (filed) with approval stamps on it and LCA forms ETA 750A/B. They didnt send me copy of I-140 approval ?? I am confused now.
Can somebody tell me how is that normal ? Is I140 approval like LCA forms with approved stamps or is it provided as a doc like H1B approval or I-485 recpt ?

Shankar123, can you please tell us who and when can some one elligible to do this. I have'nt received any FP for my case (I-485 with ND 08/15/03). Will FOIA will help me..Please share.. Thanx
 
Yes, any one is eligible for FOIA. Please download the G-639; fill it properly; provide as much information as you can about you; be very detailed and specific about your requirements;notarize the document; and mail it to VSC in lower welden street (if you have filed in vermont). Always send it to your service center and not to local office. They are to send you a letter giving receipt date and case number.
Then it will be wait and watch. Best of luck.

it is like a I-485 recpt
 
Hi Truenblue,
As an FYI the documents you got are all inclusive. The I-140 Approval is basically a stamp on your application.
Incidentally, could you please share with us your receipt date?

My FOIA date was Oct 4. I recvd confirmation letter in about 3 weeks. Now yesterday i recvd mail from them without the main thing I wanted the most, copy of I140 approval. what a frustration.
Anyway I 'll fax them again.

I got a copy from my lawer. It looks exactly like I-485 receipt notice. I don't remeber (or Just lazy to find out) if these 2 document names are exactly same (797C).

I just opened the documents. 485 receipt notice has a name (I-797C). The approval letter I got does not have a name for it but it is titled as "Notice of Action" and all the columns and rows appear exactly like I485 receipt notice. Hope this helps.

Why don't you just ask your lawer for a copy. They don't mind giving you a copy.
 
applied for FOIA

I have applied for the FOIA on 8th December. Will update this tracker when I get the receipt notice and if and when the actual documents
