We hope so - the notice says that it was transferred to Hartford office for an interview. This is why we're worried about the FP notice which we haven't received yet.

By the way, Apollo_13... my wife is the primary applicant for our GC and her current visa status is H4 (that is, I'm in H1B and my wife happended to find an employer willing to sponsor (not financially though :( ) her for GC. My H1B will expire in 2 years and we have been issued EADs for both (I'm still at H1B, not EAD status). My question is what happens if my visa expires in 2 years given that her current H4 status depends on mine. Are we still going to remain legally eligible to work if we switch our status to EAD? Your though/feedback will be appreciated.

BTW, we're EB3 concurrent.

How come some one sponsor for GC when the primary applicant is on H4? I have never heard of this. What happens to I-140/Tax filings etc?

As long as you have a valid EAD ( and extend it well before its expiry date), then you should be fine. Remember one thing, if you work on EAD, your visa is no longer valid and you should have an approved AP in hand before you go out of this country(for e.g. Vacation). AP is required at the time of returning back to US.

Lately people have started receiving FP notice which also requires them to give biometrics info or they receive just biometrics notice if they have already given their FP recently.

1. Biometrics - This is basically required for printing EAD cards and GC plastic cards. INS officers take digital photographs, digital signature of the applicant, finger print of the right index finger,

2. Regular FP is basically used by FBI to perform name check, criminal records check etc. INS officers take finger prints of all 10 fingers.

After reading few threads and other member's responses, my understanding is like this. You can see one of the following code in your FP notice and it means as follows:

Code 1 -> Regular Finger print
Code 2 -> Biometrics
Code 3 -> Both regular Finger Print and Biometrics

I finally received my finger print notice today. It has code 3 (both regualr FP and biometrics).

My appointment date is 04/14/2005. I don't know why my appointment date is so late. Is it normal?

Thanks Apollo_13. Basically my wife had to wait to work until she got her EAD last July. I-140 was approved last Oct and so I-485 changing her H4 status to GC.

Friend, can I ask you one more thing... as mentioned before, our I-485 case was tranferred to Hartford local office right after I-140 approval. Have you heard of any case like this? Not sure which office, VSC or HAR, will be issuing us a FP notice... any thought?

Finger print near my Due date

Hi,
Yesterday we have received Fingerprint notice from VSC which is scheduled on 24th march in hackensack ,NJ.
20th march is my due date for the baby and i am not sure when i will be delivering..I don't think that i will be able to go on 24th march.
Is there any way we can prepond the dates?
If so which days of the week are easy to get ?
I will greatly appreciate if anyone reply .

IWantIt,

Its good to know that you have received your FP notice. I also received it last week.

Both of our RD are same. Lets keep in touch.
 
485 LUD changed, and message of 485 &140 changed

3 days after FP ,the LUD of 485 is chaged , and the message chaged to "270-300 days" from "660 days". LUD of 140 did not change, but the message has the same change as 485.
