you made me read my notice again :). There is one for the reception and another for the notice sent out. I think the dates posted are those of when the application is received. Mine is Nov 19th, 2002. I will have to wake hopefully another month to see the processing date jump 1 month past Nov 19th to request a status check on my case.

I think there is no ambiguity here. It is the RD. From the USCIS site,

I think the stats are slightly better than you suggest - your number for slipj is wrong. I think it should be 56, not 76

Hi skusa,

On your I485 notice, does it give you a date to get stamp, or it tells you to make an appointment through InfoPass? On our notice it only says friday, 7:30 - 4:00 pm at xxxxx. It also tells us to bring ADIT style photos.
It is so hard to get 2 appointments on through InfoPass..

Yes, the stamp on the PP is as good as the plastic card, it has validity of 1yr. They didnot ask any questions just took the passport and it took barely couple mins though had to wait in line for over an hr. I realised that infopass appt time is just to enter the building its not the appt time.
and one more suggestion-take photocopies of all your documents with you. In sandiego for passport stamping they asked for copy of passport luckily I had copies of all documents so no problem.
does anyone know how long it takes for the plastic card to come?

I called USCIS 1800 #

Hi all

I called the USCIS 1800 number, they took my info and they started a case inquiry at USCIS Vermont. They gave me some details. They don't send a letter, they enter the inquiry electronically, in the database where our fate is stored :D

They say USCIS will answer to the inquiry (whatever this means) in 3-4 weeks

So, who knows ...

Here they were asking for copy of pp to those who camein for stamping so I mentioned for those of you in waiting, other than this no qs as such.

In my letter, no appt date was there, it just said to go for stamping at the address. Its better to take infopass appt though one still has to wait but its better that wait for long hrs hope this helps

I signed up for updates after FP2. The only LUD I ever received was the approval.

Prior to that I had used the phone system. The only message on that had been about FP1. Next message was approval.

So it is really not clear to me what their system is for LUD. It seems some people get lots of them, and some people get none. Hopefully your next is an approval!!! Good luck.

BTW, I go my courtesy copy of the approval notice in the mail today. It looks like I will be going for stamping in NYC this Friday.

Thanks ! - Yes, they are inconsistent with LUD and online notification. Some of us asked he customer care folks. It turns out that the online system does not work automatically. One would expect that all our cases were stored in a central database, and the online notifications would be hooked up to this databas, and automatically updated when there are changes.

But no, the way it works, if there is a change in your case, any case, someone will go and dump this info in the online notification system. A total mess. My I-140 was approved a couple months ago and I never received electronic notification, just the letter from USCIS to my employer and lawyer. Anyways, thanks again for the info and enjoy the stamp :)
 
I had an LUD change on august 8th and I think it is about FP2s. However, the posted message is still that of FP1 including the date of reception of Fp1. So I guess the LUD do not mean much except that you Dossier has been "touched".

My local office on the notice is Philladepia, but I want to take my finger print in Alxandria. Can I just visit Alxandria office without appointment and ask them if I take finger print?? Any experience? It will be great help if you add your experience.

I had original FP notices written to my old address, but went to NY after I changed (twice) my address. Call the INS 800 number and change with the agent on the phone too. Also, you may try going to your current INS local office, they understand people move, and they lag behind. They will also take your new address info and get your FP on the file. Be there on time

Get the EAD approved, nothing more.

Hoped this can push my 485 a bit, seemed not to work that way... still have finger crossed ...
 
Do you guys think that I should use this EAD, instead

of extending my H1B for another 3 years, which will cost me 1000+ to do it?
