Hey folks

No updates in almost 1 month for the current processing time. Last one was on August 18 ! How about that ?

Thanks, RPB8260. How it goes with your case?

I got my passport stamped today at boston, received the I-485 approval letter yesterday and walked in for the stamp this morning. Waited 3 hrs for my turn and took 5 mins to get the stamp, was told it takes 6-12 months to receive the plastic card ----- hope wont take that long.

Thanks for staying in touch BostonHere ! So, that's it right ? I mean, the passport stamp is equivalent to the card itself right ? How could it tgatke them 6-12 months to print a damn card !!!!!!!!! Oh well, I hope you get it soon.

My I-140 was approved on August 21st, FP2 is September 29th (decided not to go early), hoping to be outa here myself by year end, or maybe with a bit of luck, by Thanksgiving.

Based on the officer I talked to and my lawyer, stamp is the same as GC, but I remember I read something here about a case involving people get into trouble with just stamp ... hope it is just rare case. I guess as far as you are still in the hand of USCIS, nothing is that certain ....

I actually didnt hear clearly from the officer it is 6 months or weeks, he looked not happy and didnt want to answer any question, nor ask any, so I decided not to ask

Looks like VSC is jumping forword, even Nov/03 is getting approval?

My wife and I had our passports stamped on July 28 in Newark. I received my plastic card on 9/7/04, and my wife received hers yesterday. We were told that there would be a 6-12 month wait before they sent our cards. Obviously they are working much faster than that.

My friend;s wife got hers a week later from the Boston office.
Please tell us what documents you needed, (or you were asked for) for the boston office. I hope to be called up soon too in Boston.

I second that. But let's keep in mind that this is NOT the way it should be.
We face too many undeserved hardships and vexations while processing a
green card. This is not the way people should be treated, even if at the end
of the tunnel there is (in amny cases) a light.

Canada is a good example of how things should be done.
They either accept or deny your GC application, but they are quick,
efficient and polite at it.

Things are improving a bit here but there is a lot to do, not for us, but for people coming behind ...

The I-485 notice I got told me to go to Boston local office but didnt say date or time, so I went the next day, as the infopass only have time after a week.

Waited 3 hr for my turn, and I was ask for my passport, I-485 notice, AP and EAD, two photos, I-94 and I-89 which I signed and fingerprinted when I first walked into the office told them why I was there.

No question was asked, them cut EDA right away and stamped my passport, took like 5 mins.

Hope this info is helpful, and good luck mzgh!

P.S. as for the new life, felt like a new life for a day or two, then have to go back to the old one ..... it is more like a relief, which everyone here totally deserves after such a long long waiting

What time did you show up in the morning? Did you have to be there at 5am like i did last time before I knew about the info pass. But just like you, i would have gone the day after to put this process behind me.

I arrived there at 6:40 am, there were about 50 people there already. The door opened at 7:00 am. You tell them at the entrance why you were there, they give you a # for different window.

FP2 message!

After mine and my wifes's FP2 on Sep-09, yesterday I received two e.mail from
USCIS stating that
On September 15, 2004, the results of your fingerprint review for your
I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status
were received, and processing has resumed on your case. We will mail you
a notice if further action is needed, or when a decision is made.
I got an e.mail only for my wife's case!! NOT MINE!!!!
Is any body in the same situation??

I;m actually in a worse situation. My I140 was approved ages ago and I never recieved email, they never updated online, etc. In customer careee (when I called, see my post a couple days ago) they told me not to worry. The online status is updated manually, and a lot of the time they just forget to do so. My lawyer thinks the same. Oh well, good luck !!!
