I-485 online status says that they asked for additional info and the letter is mailed on aug19th and I haveyet to receive that. is anyone in the similar situation of getting mail lost. I called to the 800 number and they told me to wait till 30days.
I already notified them of change of address. this whole process is a big pain.

when did you call for address change? did you receive a confirmation letter for the address change?
I called them for address change in begining of July, and then into Aug, they still sent letter to old address. I callem again in Aug, and this time I did receive a confirmation letter for the address change yesturday.
Guess you may have to do it more than once. BTW, you will not allowed to request change of address within 30 days. if in 30 days, you have not receive anything, then you can call again.

I had problems with mailing in the past. My AP went to another person and I got the other persons' AP, We switched mail.
Now, does the online status say how many days you can expect to wait for it to come in the mail? I remember that for the EAD it said "we mailed you a new card ... bla blah ... if you don't receive it in two weeks please call customer service" If you have a similar message, you'l have to stick to this wait. Whenever it is up, just call 1800 again

If I remember correctly, your H1 status is valid even if you file for renewal One day before H1 expires. If this is so, I would wait a little and see how it goes with the EAD , and if it doesn't get approved soon spend the buck , I hope you don't need to!

My case is:

I-485: ND 05/03; RFE 08/18/04, birth certificate; RFE rec 08/27/04; AD 09/08/04
And what will happen next? My knowledge stops at this point ....

Hi, SKUSA,
Based on my experience, writting to USCIS, if not a formal application, will not get anything back (99.99999%). Calling them is the best way again. I met a gentleman when calling before (first address change request in July), and he is so nice to accept all my request including i-140. But the bad thing is nothing got updated for a month. Later in Aug calling again, a lady who is very tough and refused to change my I-140 address (they sent the approval letter to old address and got returned). But she did accept the I-485 change. I acually called and got the same lady twice. First time it was still within 30 days, so she refused to do anything. Secend time she did it. And this did work out as I said I received a letter yesterday as a confirmation of the address change.
So, call them and see what happen is the best way. Try to be polite because I found most of the chances you would get the same person when you call again later

I got stamped today at NYC Fed Plaza. Went in around 10:30. Left at 12.00pm. As told in the Approval letter, went to Worth st entrance, didn't have an infopass, and straight to Room 300. My wife and I gave photos+approval letters+I-94's+ all AP and EAD's and got our fresh stamps which are good one year. Plastic card is expected between 1 month and 1 year.
