RFE-my qualification

Hi Waitfor140

My details :
1. 30 + publications ( more than 15 as first author)
2. more than 125 citations (two years back) in 30 different journals
3. Shown evidence that I refereed articles
4. Alexander von Humboldt Fellow
5. 6 reco letters

Sekar

Sekar,

That's an impressive resume, though I have to admit I have never heard of the Humbolt fellowship. It must be famous in your field, I am a EE. Where did you get your Ph.D.? Also, I can't imagine all 30 of your publications are in major journals.

Why don't people submit more letters, 6 seems a little less to me. Is there any disadvantage in overwhelming them with letters? I had sent in 10. I have to admit that it gets a little tiring after the 4th letter.

Max

Mine is E12, filed on December
7, 2002 but the receipt date is Jan. 13, 2003.

I don't have any news. Can any body tell more about this?

Thanks.

Again..

Gents,

I am not a Ph.D and my lawyer filed E12 for me, that is categoried as "professionals with advanced degree..". Is there something about my filing? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

lj56,

From what I know, PhD is not a requirement. You probably know about the 9 criteria that are used in evaluating applicants. You must satisfy at least 2 of the 9 to be qualified.

What is your field and what are your qualifications?

Max

It's become depressingly quiet here, not much good news lately. When do you think VSC will release stats for the second half of September? What do you think will be the current dates for E1*?

still no move

the latest processing time almost the same as last time. even it moves, it still means nothing for those who filed earlier than it stated. ... ... just wish to see some miracles. cannot believe they will let this process to be 2 or 3 years long, which only needed 2 or 3 month to complete before. are they going to dump out all old applications and start to work only on newly filed ones? this will be terrible for us.... may have to refile. ...so upset.

Saw another approval

I noticed under the NIW and EB1 forum, a person with the username 'confer485' has updated his/her info:

1-140 VSC OR
RD 3/4/02
AD 9/3/03
EAC 02-131-51 ....

My I140 was approved on 9/29

Just checked the on-line status, but didn't expect any change. But you know what, I am surprised to find that my case was approved on 9/29. What a miracle.
RD: 5/31/02.

Congrats on approval.
Could you please post some details like ctegory, eb2, eb3 etc and
notice date, concurrent filing etc.
thanks

My qualification

:) Of course it is EB1-or since I post on this thread. Got a phd in China in 1999. Work in a top university now, before that work in a company. +30 papers: 6 in international journals, 2 in international conference. Others are in journals of China. All in first author. A pending patent (first inventer) in us, a national award in china, once a guest reviwer for an international jorunal. Several citations. 9 reference letters form univeristy, industry. Actually I don't think I am very strong. But my attorney is very great to assemble these things.
Wish you all good luck! Maybe next time it is your turn....

Dear Windseeker,

How did you present your papers in Chinese journals? Did you send reprints?
Were they published in English, or they had abstracts in English, or you made translations (full or just of the abstracts)?

I printed the first pages (they includes english abstracts). I tried to translate all the papers, but at last my attorney only takes the first pages of translation. He said that is enough.
