I had a similar RFE (problem with being a co-author/co-inventor almost everywhere - I don't think these guys understand the difference between first author and 100th author.....). However, my adjudicator had specifically written that the recommendations need to be from INDEPENDENT experts (......we recognize that the beneficiary is held in high esteem by his co-workers...) and not from co-workers/collaborators of mine - hence I got letters from HOD's etc. who routinely use some equipment I invented etc. etc.

The adjudicator also asked statements from my co-authors/collaborators stating that I was the primary contributor and to explain what my contribution was IN PLAIN ENGLISH. I have accordingly submitted more letters from my co-workers/boss etc. etc. stating this explicitly.
Interestingly, they also wanted to know whether it was PAID RESEARCH that I was involved in - I guess given my corporate research base......
 
Be sure that you include CVs of the independent referees. It is very desirable that there would be no direct connection between your company and them.

As for the manuscripts - ask senior authors from the most important papers (where you are the first author) to write brief one-two page letters describing your major contribution into each. There should be quit detailed explanation of your role in a given work, but not a general type of recommendation letter.

Include brief transcripts from all these letters into the cover letter.
 
140 (RD 9/17/02)& 485 approved on the same day

I received my 485 approval notice on 6/19/04 while my I140 was still pending according to the online status. Later, my attoney found out that my I140 was approved on the same day. Here are some details:

Hi, I am still with you. Around end of last month, my wife did her 2nd FP. I am not sure that why only her because I have not received any 2FP notice although my 1FP is also 15 month old already. Then that is it, and I wish something could happen with some magics such as an approval for both 140/485 at the same time. Who knows?

How about you? Any activity for FP or so?

(2) Do I need to call USCIS to ask for change after sending out the AR11?

My I-140 got approved to day (07/08/2004) !!! I reveived the automatic email, and then went to check my account, and YES it is true !

I wish the 485 will be coming soon, and Skusa, you will be the next I am sure !!! Wish everyone good luck !

U did it!Great and Congrats! I am really happy for you!God knows why USCIS so inconsistant chronologically in approving the cases.
