EAD Approved

Back again to update my timeline..

Completed my FP & BIO this morning. And in the evening, I had an update on my case status :)

My EAD is approved and the card will be mailed shortly.
Good luck to everyone else.

Hi all,

My wife and I have used this forum for information but have never posted. I figured we'd share our experiences to help someone out just like reading all of your experiences have helped us out. Our timeline for the EAD is as follows:

RD 5/11/05
ND 6/6/05
FP 6/14/05
AD 7/5/05

Funny thing is her AOS interview is 8/11/05, so she'll have her EAD card for about a month and then won't need it anymore...oh well, what can you do?

Good luck to you all.

This thread has been really useful to me. I have posted my details on on eof the other threads, but wanted to mention them here again.

June 17th 2005 - Lawyer mailed the forms (I485/I130/I131/I765)
June 19th 2005 - RD
June 29th 2005 -ND
Aug 17th 2005 - FP and Bio Appointment
July 6th 2005 - Got FP and Bio done through walkin at Dallas ASC.

I have an offer letter from a company and they have already waited me for a month so I am going to try and go to local DO with offer letter to try my luck. I doubt they'll grant me an interim EAD but lets see..Will keep posted!

Thanks,
Meers

This is a great thread. Thanks zoomz00m for maintaining it! My mom's and my priority date became current recently and we just sent in our AOS/EAD packages.

I'm not quite sure I know what all the different dates mean, but I'll give what I do know.

Mailed packages: 06/21/2005
Packages delivered to Chicago: 06/23/2005

I'm confused about the receipt date and I was hoping someone could help me understand. We mailed the packages Certified Priority Mail and with the little green Return Receipt postcard on the envelope. We never did get our postcard back, but putting the tracking number into usps.com, I tracked the packages as "Delivered, June 23, 2005, 1:31 pm, CHICAGO, IL 60680".

(As a side note, my aunt also mailed in her AOS/EAD package the day after we did and she has already got her green USPS Return Receipt postcard back. Should I be worried because mine still has not come back?)

We're still waiting for a receipt from USCIS. That's supposed to take a month, right? Sorry, please bear with my newbie-ness. :)

Edited to add: Got the green postcard back today!

There are two dates:- ( Both will be clear when you get the Receipt, but then again the explanation might help others who are waiting for their receipt)
Received Date:- ( This is the date when USCIS receives your application and is generally within a couple of days after the USPS delivery confirmation...so for your case this is most likely be around June 25th...guessing )
Notice Date:- ( This is the date when they send you out the receipt after they basically see if your fees / documents etc are correct....so for your case this is most likely be July 16th...guessing ).
So as you can see on the RECEIPT there are two dates known as received date and notice date. A maximum of 30 days should be allowed before you hear back anything from USCIS.
thank you

Hi

Can anyone tell me how long does it take to receive the input about EAD? On 13th july it will be 90 days of my filing for EAD. I can see my case status online, updated on 6/3/05 but nothing has been intimated about EAD yet. Also I have got fingerprinting and biometrics appointment in august. Will it affect getting the EAD? Do they give EAD only to those who have gone through fingerprinting and biometrics? Is there any relation between the two?

I would really appreciate the responses.

Thanks

After 90 days is up you can go and try to get an interim EAD from your local district office
If you are not in need of an EAD urgently you can wait till the fingerprint and you will get it within a week of the FP
p.s:p please delete one of your posts since they are the same.
thank you

ZoomZoom,

Great thread and thanks for your daily updates. However, I was thinking it would be extremely useful to have a column to indicate which Processing center (NSC, CSC, etc) a particular EAD application is being sent to.

Just my 2 cents.

EAD timeline

Looks like most of you who filed i-765, i-131, 130, 485 together did bio and fp around a month after RD. But i seemed to have gotten appoinment within a week. I wasnt sure if there is just one or two bio's or fp's.

All EAD time line posted here are family based and therefore are processed at NSC/MSC/NBC whichever name you call it.
thank you

there is code 3 fp and bio for I-485
and code 2 bio only for I-765 (EAD)
this is generally the case. Exceptions are possbile though
thank you
p.s:if you have questions unrelated to EAD you an pm me.
thank u.

Urgent please help!!!

Its been 90 days of my filing for adjustment of status and i have not received EAD. My fingerprinting appointment is on 18th august. Today I went to the local INS office to apply for interim EAD but they said that my application has been approved and I can apply for interim EAD only if my application was rejected. I need to have a job immediatly but I can't without my EAD. I called to prepone my FP appointment but they didn't have an earlier date than 18th august. What can I do in this case now? I am very confused. Can I sit for an interview and be considered if I submit my EAD after few days of joining? Do the employers consider that? Does anyone know about this kind of situation.
Please help!!!

HI
can you tell me that do the employers considered you for the interview even if you didn't have EAD? I have approved EAD but my FP is on aug 18th so they are not issuing me EAD before my FP is done and I also can not get interim EAD as my application is approved. Interim EAD is given in that case only when application is rejected. Please tell me so that I can also start applying for jobs. I am in great need of job but I have been waiting for my EAD.

you can try walkin in one of the ASC centers closer to you for FP and Bio. It worked for me..just a suggestion.

I dont think you can start working until you have the EAD in your hands. You'll have to wait for it. You can start interwieving with company and let them know bout your situation. and hopefully they would ok with the wait.

Where do the various applications go from Chicago Lockbox?

in response to your question: You can interview for jobs while you are waiting for the EAD.. you can explain your situation to the company and see if they can wait once you are closer to getting the job...

I have a question of my own :

We sent I-485/I-130/I-131/I-765 applications to the chicago lockbox ... Where are all the applications sent from there? We are in Detroit so do we have to go to the Local office/centers here for EAD and Fingerprinting etc....

still confused

HI i just called 1-800 and tried to FP appointment in nearby areas but no success. She asked me to call back tomorrow at 8AM. Can I just walkin without appointment and will they consider me? I do not know what to do....

I did my FP/Bio through walk in on 06/21/05 at boston ASC (actual appointment was on 07/30/05). If you are lucky you might just get through. If you have 2-3 different ASC's in a driveable distance you might try going there for a walk in, just do your research when these centers have the least number of ppl in line.

Did you go to the same local office or a different one? My local office is in indianapolis. As per your suggestion now I will drive to the nearby offices and try my luck.
Thanks
