EAD, AP & FP status for May, 2001

at what stage does INS issue RFE ?

Hi guys,
My RD is 5/15 and I\'ve one question.
I\'ve a gap of about 2 months in my Job Details, when I was out of job last year. But My New H1 was applied before I left my first job, so I maintained my status.
But then I had to wait for H1 to come before I could join, so there was a gap of 2 months.

do you think I can get an RFE based on that ?
I wanted to mention that in my 485 application, that I maintained the status, but lawyer didn\'t want to put that in.
He just put \'None\' in \'Job Description\' for those two months.

Can INS find out that I was in Status during that time, or will they issue RFE without checking any records.
If somebody has similar experiece, please post.

At what stage INS issues RFE for a similar situation ?

Hi Carter:

My AOS ND is 7/31 and WAC is 01-243.

Attorney didn\'t file EAD and AP for me. They filed EAD for my wife alone.

Guys , do you have any idea about Visa-Reissuance. My attorney was mentioning to use this option instead of AP to travel outside. I have 2 years left in my H1B.

How about Fax Inquiry for FP notices ?

Folks,
How about asking our lawyers to send fax inquiry for FP notices ?
Since they sent FP notices to lot of people who applied in April we have all rights to ask them.

What is the time CSC is taking now a days to issue EAD ( not iEAD)

I see nobody from May 2001 thread getting the EAD by 29th august 2001. ( not iEAD)
That is approx. after 4 months or 120 days.

What is the time INS - CSC is taking to send EADs now a days?

How much time it takes to send FP notice? ( Please do not give me complicated last name/2 system information.)
Just plain average time will do.

Will the officer ask us a question like
Why do you need an iEAD?
if so what was your answer.

Hello,

I was also wondering if they would throw some
questions at me and try to deny iEAD.
Strangely, they did not ask any question at all.

The purpose of iEAD is to help us get going with
earning our livelihood when the long process of
GC is going on forever at INS. Perhaps, INS knows
their own inability to process faster than what
they do. :) All they saw was if the RD was 90
days ago (and I went on the 91st day). In fact,
I came to know about this board only a day before
that and could find some good INS visit experience
postings to encourage me enough to give it a try.
Had I known before, I might have went sooner than
90 days - as I think there is nothing wrong in
taking a chance before 90 days if there is a real
need.

If they happened to ask you about why you need one,
may be you can tell them your genuine need for iEAD
- something like your H1 is expiring soon (mine expired
when I went) and you need to continue working.

AP waiters any news ?

Guys,
rrao_k, Johnson J, I-485, hopeful, obajaj, AZ-Boy, 485485, GC_In_1_Day, Ratnakar, JPGREENCARD, rrrash, KumarSunil, gc_waiter, Did any one of you try to contact an IIO to find out why they have not issued an AP thus far? I am unable to get an IIO on line. Notice that some with 6/1 dates have been given an AP. Good for them, but INS continues with its haphazard ways...

Please post the address of the INS office in San Jose. Also, I would really appreciate if you could post the time it took for you to get the iEAD. How big was the line to enter the office??
