DV 2026 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

Did you actually read the spreadsheet?
yes, actually several times. So do I get my 2nl after paying administrative fee payment or once my case number became current?Sorry for such silly question, just to reconfirm. thank you for your patience and understanding

Your initial question asksd “how”, not when, though it is the same thing. You get it after you pay the fee, assuming you send a stamped self addressed envelope with it.

Hello!! I hope you are doing well! I saw in a post from past years that someone mentioned a good lawyer in NYC who helped him expedite the interview. In the comment, he mentioned he had shared the contact information of this lawyer with you. Do you mind sharing his information with me, please?

Hi mom!

Few questions for you

1. I (believe) I got the AOS 2NL (the one that says "Thank you for informing us that you plan to apply for adjustment of status with U.S. Citizenship and ImmigrationServices (USCIS).")

However, before getting this email, I unlocked my DS-260 and changed my address. The 2NL still shows my old address (presumably from when I filled out the entry form). Will they be sending another 2NL with the new address listed on the DS-260? Does it matter if the 2NL still has the old address?

2. My H-1B expires in August of 2026 and I should have two years left on my status once renewed. Are there any pitfalls I should worry about when renewing while my AoS occurs? I should still be on legal status and I have no issues with my I-94 (ie, Admit until == Current Expiry Date)

1. No. No.
2. Nothing specific comes to mind at the moment.

AOS Process Spreadsheet Update

For some weird reasons which I really do not understand, Google has decided to flag the AOS Process Spreadsheet as “suspicious”. It claims “the file contains links which may be used to steal people’s information”, which is not true. Based on this, I have no idea how much longer they will allow the file to remain up and running. I’ve followed the instructions provided by Google to request a review of the file, this however keeps returning a 404 error file not found message.

I currently have no idea of how or when this will be resolved. However, I’m putting up this post to reassure users the file is safe to use, and to disregard the warning sign if displayed when the file gets opened. I’m open to suggestions/ideas on how to get this resolved.

Hi Mom,

I am a DV-2026 selectee with a low case number, currently maintaining a valid F1 visa status along with my four dependents. I have submitted our DS-260 applications and completed the AOS fee payment; however, I have not yet received payment confirmation. I would appreciate advice on whether I am proceeding correctly or if payment should have been deferred.

Yes those are the right steps to start with. Did you include a SASE with the payment?

Hello! I hope you are doing well.
I have a question: I am in F1, and my program finishes on May 20, 2026.
If I understand correctly, I can request my OPT 90 days before my classes finish ( it will be February 20 ), but I can ask my OPT to start 60 days after my classes finish, which would be 20 July.

1. During that 60-day grace period in which I don't have my OPT and during OPT itself, can I do AOS?

2. Also, if my OPT is not authorized for any reason, is the grace period of 60 days to leave the US a valid status to do AOS?

Thank you very much for your support!

Yes, you can apply for AOS during OPT is as straightforward a response as I can possibly give to your 2 questions. Other than that, I recommend not trying to wriggle around the technicalities of what could be deemed gray areas, status wise, when applying for AOS most especially under the current administration.

I recommend getting your OPT in place as soon as possible while waiting for your CN to become current in order to give your AOS application a better chance of getting approved.

Hello, I hope you are doing well. Are my transcripts for high school sufficient? It clearly state that i have completed those 5 years and graduated. But i dont have the actual diploma. I have the diploma from my university. Thank you

Take a look at this response provided to a similar question on the 2025 AOS thread a couple of hours ago.
