DV 2025 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

Hi everyone

It’s been over four weeks since I sent my DV administrative fee payment, and the money order was cashed three weeks ago, but the payment still hasn’t been processed. My case number is current for next month, and I’m getting worried about timing.

I was wondering if it would be okay to go ahead and send my documents without the official receipt, just to save some time. In the meantime, I’ll include:
  • A copy of the money order receipt
  • A screenshot from USPS showing that the money order was cashed
  • The USPS tracking number confirming delivery to the office
Once I receive the official receipt from department of state , I’ll send it separately.

Let me know what you think. I’m nervous about running out of time—starting in May, I’ll only have five months left before the fiscal year ends.

No, you cannot separately send the payment receipt - the Lockbox folks will not chase down your application in order to include any unsolicited document received at a later date. You either send it with your AOS package, or take it along with you to your interview.

As to your question about sending your AOS package without the DV administrative fee payment receipt, please take a look at the FAQ section of the AOS Process Spreadsheet where this has been addressed.

Hello!

I have a quick question: For documents such as current transcript, current employment verification letter, current enrollment verification letter, I-94, how recent do these forms need to be? Should I request/download them when my CN becomes current, or is it okay if they were obtained 2–3 months earlier, like now? My CN may become current in August, so I may send them perhaps in June. Should I wait one/two more month(s) to print out these documents and put them in my folder?

I recently reached out to emma and said to contact them after 21 months regarding I485 case, ~2 month after filing. Is this a typical cookie cutter response? Or is something wrong going on?

It all depends on how easy it is for you to request/receive/download the specific documents - so you can use your discretion on this.

That’s for nonDV cases
My concern is that is since DV eligibility ends in September. I want to add they said it's considered family-based. Could they have profiled my case incorrectly? My receipt notice has the correct case type but no priority date listed.

You clearly reached someone who doesn’t understand the eligibility sunset in DV.

Hello, Even though I have received my EAD card, the USCIS online status shows as Card Returned to USCIS. Should I be concerned about this? I'm currently waiting for my DV2025 Green Card appointment/waiver letter. Is there a chance USCIS might think my address is invalid? I tried to call, but it goes through automated responses. Appreciate any help. Thanks

Hi does it make sense to do both the 6 month - out of processing e request and another congressional inquiry at the same time, or should I do one after the other

It wouldn’t hurt to follow up with USCIS to confirm as to which card was returned and why.

Personally, I wouldn’t use up both options at the same time.

Thank you.

So we will both do the 6 month inquiry today and wait a bit with the second congressional inquiry.

In addition, we could request case assistance through both of our senators. How would you use this option?

I am trying to time it in the best way possible.

I wouldn’t initiate a congressional inquiry from two congressmen - as it constitutes a waste of their time and an abuse of available resources.

Absolutely - I did not plan doing that.

We have previously done the congressional inquiry through the congressperson responsible for the county we live in.

Now, it came to my attention that the two senators for our state also offer assistance with federal agencies.

1. Is the inquiry through a senator different (more impactful?) compared to the congressional inquiry through the congressperson?

2. How do we pick one of the two senators? There is no indication of responsibility for a certain area of the state as far as I can tell.

3. How long would you suggest to wait after the "out of normal processing time" service request that both of us initiated today?

1. Exactly the same thing. Neither is more, or less impactful than the other. Congressional inquiry, be it through your senator or congressman is for obtaining status updates you may not have been able to obtain on your own.
2. You can choose whichever you like.
3. Please use your discretion.

Thanks for the clarification.

You earlier advised me to not use up both options at the same time, so while I understand that providing a specific time might not be possible, should we wait for result for the case inquiry (up to 60 days) or should we just wait a few weeks?
