DV 2025 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

My I-134 sponsor noticed that his tax return transcripts from the IRS include only the last 4 digits of his SSN. Also, form I-134 does not ask for SSN at all. I want to include additional income proof, like his 2024 W-2. The W-2 has his full SSN. He wants to redact (black-out) the first 5 digits of his SSN on the W-2 (leaving only the last 4 digits just like the tax transcripts) -- is this kind of redaction ok for USCIS?

I became an F1 student in Sept 2023. I did not work and had no income in 2023. I did have authorized work in 2024 and I filed a federal tax return for TY2024 (which I will include in my AOS package). I have an I-134 sponsor.

Regarding 2023, is USCIS expecting to see a tax return from me for TY2023?
No.

Not a problem.

That doesn't mean USCIS will have any information about the DV payment, that payment is processed by KCC.

Money being deducted from your account does not mean the payment has been processed by the recipient. So you need to contact your bank to confirm if the recipient has gone ahead and proceed the CC upon receipt.
I received my receipt of payment, thank you for your assistance earlier

When we will send new (corrected) I-485 form to USCIS after rejection, can we send it with all package which we received back (all the documents was fastened, and we have there I-693 form) or we need to unpack it and pull out the wrong I-485?
Thank you

I’ll recommend you remove the flagged page on the I485, and replace with updated/corrected page(s).

Hey, are you still waiting for a response?
Still waiting… 5 months since RFE response was received and soon 6 months since filing.
What do you mean by this? Who communicates what to who in your understanding?

A search of an applicant for say a visa or extension of status will certainly link back to the DV fee payment.
I recalled this from a previous response in the forum, my apologies if incorrect. The information I recalled was that the payment is not as significant as a filed DS260 or I485 for immigration intent.

Hi everyone,

While there are still no news on our I485 after almost half a year, I can share some good news, got selected in the H1B lottery. Can I safely pursue this as a backup for me and my spouse, and what would I have to look out for to not impact the AOS?

We are in the same situation. I'll be hitting six months on 04/09. Don't forget to submit an "outside normal processing time" inquiry if you haven't heard anything once it has been exactly six months for you.

Yes you can pursue the H1B lottery. Initiating the process has no impact on the pending AOS application.

Where can I check FO's "Outside normal processing time" inquiry for I-485 category, DV lottery option. I only see family or employment based category. I can't see dv category in the drop down options.

Read point 3 under Note. They say if your case is not listed, wait for 6 months, as their goal is to always make a decision within 6 months. This is what an EMMA agent told me to do too.

Not sure if this inquiry do anything tbh, but at least you are telling them that you are still there waiting.

There is no ”normal processing time” for DV because it is accelerated compared to other aos cases.

Hi. My sponsor completed and "wet" signed the I-134 form. Can he scan it and email it to me to print -- or he needs to mail me the original form with his "wet" signature?

Hey everyone!

Just got back from the interview. Overall, the entire interview took about 20-30 minutes. The questions were the simplest ones from the I-485 form and they asked a couple of questions about my status - I said that I received approval for asylum last year and had already submitted the I-485 form on the basis of asylum. The officer said that most likely there would be a denied because I had been out of status for some time.

After the interview, the status changed to "Interview Was Completed And My Case Must Be Reviewed". I think a letter with the reasons for denied will arrive soon...

Ps. By the way, they gave the right answer here.

P.s. #2 Absolutely no documents were looked at except the standard ones (ID, Interview tetter, asylum approval letter)

Thanks for the update regarding your interview. Sorry to learn about the outcome. If you had provided us the information about being OOS prior to filing for asylum like you did here, we would have also been able to let you know your DV based AOS application would be denied on that basis even though your asylum application has been approved. You only told us in this post about yourself being an asylee while your wife is asylum pending. I was under the impression you were never OOS prior to filing, hence the response provided on this thread focusing on your wife's AOS application as your derivative being denied and not on yours.

That’s correct. If you’ve ever been out of status (including on prior entries) you are barred from adjusting status for DV and most other bases. See section F here

Yes, unfortunately I forgot about such an important detail as out-of-status and I myself did not find information about this anywhere, although I studied a lot before applying...I will also wait for the official letter and write here again later
