You’re an ungrateful scum. There is nothing you can do to stop getting overwhelmingly confident false responses on this forum as well. I suggest you do your own research.

Thanks for the helpful questions and answers!1. Write the visa number from the expired passport.
3. No, leave the prepare section blank. It is generally understood that parents will fill out the forms for their minor kids (and that does not equate to being an official "preparer"). You will sonly sign the Applicant's Signature section (with your own signature) on behalf of your child.
4. You're filling the form on behalf of your child, so you have to check the person indicating you can read and write.
1. Dependent of temporary worker is fine. Thanks for the helpful questions and answers!
For minors (under 14), I was hoping to clarify a couple of things:
On i-485:
1. pg 2, q11: Ok to write, "Dependent of temporary worker"? Child was inspected and entered as dependent. Should I specify the dependent status type?
2. pg 9: do we need to provide information on dependent's school in this section? currently I have this filled out as N/A
3. pg 19, q61: click less than high school for education?
4. Sorry, the answer to aleonardol's question, number 4 above, confused me a bit. Maybe i didn't understand. We are leaving interpreter and preparer sections blank for small children, but we certify we are fluent in English? the only section I see something resembling this is on p. 22 interpretor's certification and signature on the new form (perhaps this was a req on the old form?)
Thank you!
You can submit the other financial documents already listed on the AOS process spreadsheet.Hi! We've arrived to the US few months ago and didn't have any job yet. As I understand, W-2 form can be available only in 2026 for us, as same as IRS return transcript. What to submit in this case? Thank you in advance!
Hey, may I know the reason for your RFE?Hello,
It’s been well over 30 days since I responded to my RFE. The case status did not update when the RFE was sent to me, it is still showing biometrics as the latest update. Checking in on the case with an agent, they can see the RFE was sent, but they do not see a response as received. I was told to reach out after 60 days (so in another 30) for an inquiry to the FO.
Can I do anything besides wait for time to pass til an inquiry can be sent to the FO?
Are you processing AOS or CP?Hello Everyone, I have a quick question. In my initial DV Entry, I made a mistake on my address. So my 1NL came with the wrong address (The mistake was on the Street Number). Then I submitted my DS-260 with my correct address on it. I just received my 2NL, but it did not use the address that I put in my DS-260. Instead, it used the initial address with the wrong street number. I tried to e-mail KCC twice but they were not helpful, they kept sending me a generic answer that was not related to my issue. Should I just keep my 2NL with the wrong address on it? Or how do you think I should proceed? Thank you so much for your time!
Be patient for now.Hello,

I don’t see a cause for alarm, or reason to be stressed over this situation. And I certainly wouldn’t recommend adding some form of addendum to the AOS package. I don’t see a need to lawyer up either.Hi everyone,
I'm currently on F-1 STEM OPT and will be filling out the I-485 soon. I've realized I've made a mistake in reporting my address change on the SEVP portal, which is a requirement of F-1. Given I have a high case number, I won't have time to wait for a lengthy background check in August - September and I'd like to avoid any possible RFEs. So I want to do what I can when filing the I-485. Here is my situation:
- I used to live at address A in Massachusetts which I had reported on the SEVP portal within 10 days of move
- Once my lease in address A was up in August, I went back to my home country for about 6 weeks of vacation. During this time I didn't have a physical US address (reporting foreign addresses isn't a requirement)
- I came back to the US in October, this time to the DC area. I stayed at an Airbnb at address B while looking for permanent housing. I reported address B on SEVP portal within 10 days. I stayed at address B for 2 weeks.
- My friend living in the DC area offered me to stay with her at address C while I look for housing. I stayed at address C for 2 weeks. I did not report this address change.
- I finally moved to my new permanent address (address D). However, I forgot to report this address change on the portal within 10 days. I've instead reported it 25 days after I moved.
- Today I found out that in addition to updating my address on the SEVP portal, I should have filed an AR-11 (or update my address on my USCIS portal). I immediately updated my address on the USCIS portal (46 days after I moved).
I know that there is a section on form I-485 that asks to list all the addresses the applicant lived in. I'm concerned SEVIS records will show some gaps when compared to what I'll have put down on I-485. I'm thinking of preparing an addendum that explains my stay in addresses B and C were temporary while searching for a permanent residence and I took immediate action in good faith when I realized I was late in reporting my move to address D. I don't think my stay in addresses B and C will be a problem since they were short term, but the fact that I couldn't report my move to address D really in a timely manner worries me a lot.
Would preparing the addendum be a good idea or would it overload the application? What's the best approach here?
Should I be letting my DSO aware of this situation? (They don't know I'm planning to file for DV AOS).
I was hoping to finalize everything without a lawyer. Is it time for me to lawyer up?
Thank you so much!
I am processing AOS. Thank you, I will put my 2NL in my AOS package as it is.Are you processing AOS or CP?
You can’t do anything about the wrong street number on the 2NL. The most important thing was to have listed the correct information on your DS260 form which you already did. So attend your interview as is.
I did it this way without any issues. I‘d recommend to use Acrobat, other pdf programs messed up the fillable fields for me.Hello everyone and Happy New Year First time here. Working on my case and planning to file in a week.
I have a question for those who have already submitted the document package with Form I-485. I want to fill out the form on the computer and then just sign it by hand at the end. The problem is that not all fields can be filled out by clicking on them. However, in Preview.app on MacOS, and seemingly also in Adobe Acrobat, you can add any text to the PDF file and place it anywhere on the page.
I don’t have very good handwriting, and if there are mistakes, it’s easier to correct them on the computer than to reprint the pages.
Has anyone filled out the form in this way, and was it accepted by USCIS without any issues? Is it worth doing it this way, or is it better to just fill everything out by hand?
Thank you for your help.
Thanks. I'll give it a try. I just like the built-in Preview app on Mac for its simplicity and speed.I did it this way without any issues. I‘d recommend to use Acrobat, other pdf programs messed up the fillable fields for me.
