Hello All
My brother have been selected in DV-2025 and his consular interview will be early June-2025 in Bogota Colombia. I am been trying to get in touch with them to basically ask them if he will need an affidavit of support like the i-134, I-864 or similar ... I have read in different places that no affidavit of support is needed fro DV...but I also learned from different discussion boards that depends on the consulate. Anyone had experience from the Bogota-Colombia consulate if they are looking to bring an "affidavit of support" ?

Having an I-134 on hand (to be presented when/if asked) for the interview is never a bad idea, so it wouldn't hurt to have it IMO. An I-864 is not applicable to DV cases.

What Is the Purpose of Form I-134?
"Some immigration benefits that involve a temporary stay in the United States require U.S. Citizenship and ImmigrationServices (USCIS) to determine whether the applicant or beneficiary of the request has sufficient financial resources orfinancial support to pay for expenses during the temporary stay"
"Certain individuals applying for parole based on urgent humanitarian reasons or significant public benefit filed on FormI-131, Application for Travel Documents, Parole Documents, and Arrival/Departure Records, must file this form withForm I-131. Looks like it may not be a good fit for DV..right ? may guess is that your suggestion is to have it regardless even it is not good fit ..right?

Did you also see the section where it says: "Form I-134 may also be requested by Department of State in certain instances"? I wouldn't have recommended having it on hand as a back-up financial document if it is not "a good fit for DV". Form I-134 is the official form for a DV applicant to demonstrate they're not likely to become a public charge.
If it helps, you can take a look at 9 FAM 302.8 where it says:
Use of Form I-134, Declaration of Financial Support:
(a) (U) Because INA 212(a)(4)(C) and INA 213A require the use of Form I-864 for so many classes of immigrants, the use of Form I-134 has been reduced considerably. Nevertheless, there still are circumstances when Form I-134 will be beneficial. This affidavit, submitted by the applicant at your request, is not legally binding on the sponsor and should not be accorded the same weight as Form I-864. Form I-134 should be considered one form of evidence in conjunction with the other forms of evidence mentioned below.
(b) (U) If any of the following applicants need formal documentation from a financial supporter to meet the public charge requirement, they must use Form I-134, as they are not authorized to use Form I-864:
(i) (U) Returning residents (SB-1s);
(ii) (U) Diversity visa applicants (DVs); and
(iii) (U) Fiancé(e)s (K-1s or K-3s)

Nairobi only sent 2nls once this year (for December'24). They haven't done anything else since. We don't know when or whether they'll resume processing DV selectees.

My Brother has his consular DV interview at the Bogota ( Colombia ) embassy on June 2nd 2025. The only thing he could not be able to do is to schedule his and his wife Biometric (fingerprints and digital photograph) collection at CSRA's Applicant Service Center (ASC) using the online page: ais.usvisa-info.com/en-co/iv/users/sign_in
He also have sent emails to the embassy to report the issue and so far no answer, any suggestions ?

To DV winners, let me take a second to encourage you, having gone through the process myself.
I can't believe a year has passed since I landed at JFK Airport in May last year. I know what most of you are going through. You're questioning your case number, your documents etc and it's normal to do so. Its a straightforward process in highsight, but everyone's situation is different. Personally, moving here has changed my life in ways that weren't apparent before I got here.
I want to implore you to keep going, stay positive and BE ORGANIZED. All the information you need is in these threads, get comfortable and just read. Don't take shortcuts.

Hi! I already posted in this thread earlier. Since then, I requested the return of my original diploma, and it was returned the very next day. Otherwise, nothing has changed. I’ve been emailing the embassy every two months, and the answer is always the same: the administrative processing is still ongoing (which means it's now been 8 months).
So I have a new set of questions:
- Is there any way to contact the agency that’s conducting administrative processing directly? Maybe there's an email address?
- Would it make sense to write to the Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) or any other related agencies?
- I’ve heard that many people waiting for administrative processing often get a decision in August. Is that true?

1 & 2. Your only contact at this point is the embassy. KCC no longer has any role to play in the process.
3. They try to finish processing cases stuck in AP as best as they can before the end of the applicable FY.

As of June 20th, 2025, we see the total number of issued and scheduled for an interview visas are 55944. We still have one more bulletin in 2025. 1. Can you please explain how should this number be "read".
2. Does this mean that people whose number becomes current in September may not have their visa interview scheduled as the number is already over 55 000 limit? Or even if they have an interview in September , the visas may run out by then?

As an aside, do we know what # of the ready is now under travel ban?

We don't, but they are scheduling as normal. E.g. there's a large number of AS cases invited to ANK, YRV which are most likely Iranians. We can safely assume that more than normal number of cases will either be refused or people won't show up.
This screenshot includes until which VB? Meaning, the ones that are “ready” include people from july as well?
