DV 2024 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

1-485 FORM:

Part 2. Information About Immigrant Category

Q3. Receipt number of underlying petition (for principal applicant)
Q4. Priority date from underlying petition

1. Is this section related to Diversity Visa's?
2. If so, where do you find the receipt number for underlying petition?

Part 8. General Eligibility / Criminal Acts

Q25. If you answer YES to this question based on being cited for a speeding ticket. Wouldn't the answer to Q26 be YES also? I'm trying to understand the difference between those two questions.

Thank you.
I suggest you take a look at the pre-filled sample I-485.

Hello,
I sent my package to the Phoenix lockbox through USPS, and the tracking indicates it was 'Delivered to Agent, Delivered to Agent for Final Delivery' with a green mark on April 5. However, I haven't received any notifications yet. It's been 14 days, and based on the usual timeline for deliveries to Phoenix, it typically takes from 5 to 14 days to receive notification or have the check cashed. Should I be worried, or is there something I should do? If so, what steps should I take?

Thank you in advance.
Be patient for now.

Thanks. I did.

For part 2 - I wasn’t sure if NA would be the same for everyone.

For part 8 - they answered yes for cited. But no for the next question related to a crime. That doesn’t make sense to me. If you’ve been arrested or cited - you committed a crime.

For Biometrics appointment, all i need is Biometrics letter, completed AIW form and government issued photo ID right?
Just was to confirm to prevent unforeseen issues.
Appreciate your feedback.

I received this today. Is this what you receive when you send your AOS application to the lockbox? My card is still intact. No deduction yet. I posted my parcel on 10th April but was delivered on 11th based on USPS post notification.

This is a direct response to an inquiry you must have submitted at one point or the other to USCIS. It is not the notification for the submitted AOS application.

Hello everyone. In part 8, question 66 of Form I-485, it asks about your highest level of education completed. I'm unsure which option to select:
  1. High school diploma or GED
  2. One or more years of college credits without a degree.
I completed high school and am currently in my sophomore year of college.

I would think that means you select option 1 (high school) as you haven’t completed a college degree yet - you’re on your way to doing it.

The word ‘completed’ is the key in that question.

Here’s what I know, an SMS (acceptance) notification does not get sent for a rejected package. If the package is truly rejected, it would have been sent back, you wouldn’t receive the acceptance text notification - it is possible someone messed up and listed the wrong update for the case. So for now, you have to wait and see if the package truly gets sent back to you, in which case you’ll have to re-file with the new fee.

In the interim, you can go online and initiate a chat with Emma (google USCIS Emma), request to get connected with an online agent and discuss the issue with them.

Also, I suggest you add your case updates to the 2024 Timeline spreadsheet to give us a better insight into the case progression.
Here is the update:
1- I received the biometric letter for whole family
2- The next day I received the rejection notice with the whole package back to me for my son!!
3- We already did the biometric and I'm confused what to do now

That is interesting. Looks like someone messed up. When did you receive the rejected package?

Hi @Sm1smom , I'm currently working on my I-134 form. The sponsor, who is a Lawful Permanent Resident, has agreed to support me. However, he's also planning to sponsor his parents to come to the USA this year, and he's unsure if he can sponser both of them and me. He does have a good income, but would it be an issue if he sponsors me as well?

During the week I received an update that my card has been mailed to me.

As I am waiting to hand in my notice, start a new job, and have certain work sensitivities to handle, on Friday I asked Emma if there is a tracking number available yet- just as insight into predicted delivery date will help me a lot with juggling the above.
The agent told me that no tracking number had been generated yet so I thanked them and ended the chat.

I recieved the attached today. Super weird. Am assuming the agent proceeded to submit a form for non delivery, despite my timeline being entirely within normal confines.
My question is if this could add any element if bother to my situation. Am assuming someone will just look at it and tell me that my card is in the mail; just wanted to check out of caution.

Last week. And the check for rejected application was not inside the package.
Should I send a new package with new check with increased fees now? I'm thinking to request expedite processing but I do not know what should I say since the rest of family did not get the green card yet too. Any comment?

A LPR is not eligible to sponsor their parents for a GC, so sponsoring you shouldn’t be a problem if this sponsor’s income meets the applicable poverty guidelines threshold for both his and your household combined together.

You can’t assume anything, you’ll just have to wait and see at this point while keeping your fingers crossed and hoping you haven’t needlessly created an unnecessary clog in the wheel for yourself. This entire process from start to finish calls for a lot of P.A.T.I.E.N.C.E!

I was curious to know when you got the rejected package considering you decided to go ahead and complete the bio without doing anything about the rejected package, while waiting a whole week seek guidance on what to do. Oh well.

Personally, I would have sent back the rejected package with a new check immediately after receiving it just to ensure the application gets back in the system without further delay.

Hi @Sm1smom I would be appreciated ıf you would answer me .I am confused.

Which choice should you mark where? I have no idea as to question and on which form it is that you’re trying to respond to.
