DV 2024 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

Hello, I'm interested in a question about the process of my case. in the chronological table. I'm under the name "yeva" #69, I want to understand what I should do next? Just wait?
to understand what is written in my uscis account:
January 15, 2024 Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken
January 10, 2024 We accepted the fingerprint fee for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status. Our National Benefits Center location is working on your case.
Thank you!

Hello @Yeva !
What Field Office (FO) do you have?

I have a question, I had a chat with EMMA a few weeks ago and got told my case was at IOWA FO. I did have another chat with them today because the address change we submitted hasn’t reflected on their end according to them and the agent told me my case is with NBC and hasn’t been assigned to a local office yet. I am just confused on whether to go with what the first agent said or what this new agent is saying,

Take a look at this post re file locations, agents and their responses.

I have another question, so we filed for AR11 on March 12 for a change of address. I haven’t received any confirmation letter to show that address was changed. Hence i decided to contact EMMA and they said they have my old address on file. Should I just go ahead and do the address update online. Or AR 11 takes a long time hence I should wait for it to reflect. It’s been 3 weeks now

Getting the AR11 confirmation letter could take up to 30 days or more. Just so you are aware, getting the confirmation letter does not necessarily mean the new address will then get attached to your pending AOS application - information movement through the various USCIS systems can be notoriously slow. There's no harm with submitting an online COA also.

I realized I still have access to my old apartment since my name is still on the lease till August and also my friends currently live there. I plan on just leaving it as it is so I dnt get delays due to change in jurisdiction

It's a bit late to be hoping you do not trigger a FO change due to your new address - so you need to have an open mind, that it may or may not happen. Keep you fingers crossed and hope for the best. Since your name is still on the lease, and you have access to the apartment, then you should have waited on submitting the AR-11.

So in a rare case where I still haven’t received any confirmation letter with regards to the change of address and also if after a month or two EMMA still has only my old address on file, will that mean the AR11 didn’t go through. You definitely right I just didn’t know the change of dates will trigger FO change. I assumed they were both under the same jurisdiction since it’s just an hour away

No, it does not mean it did not go through. USCIS receiving the AR11 form is one thing. Tying the new address to the pending application is another issue.

So basically, AR11 might go through however they might not even tie it to the case. Hence keeping the old address and the old FO or the AR11 might go through and a trigger of a new FO might happen, which can cause a delay in the case. These are the obvious outcomes I’m guessing?

Here’s what I know, an SMS (acceptance) notification does not get sent for a rejected package. If the package is truly rejected, it would have been sent back, you wouldn’t receive the acceptance text notification - it is possible someone messed up and listed the wrong update for the case. So for now, you have to wait and see if the package truly gets sent back to you, in which case you’ll have to re-file with the new fee.

In the interim, you can go online and initiate a chat with Emma (google USCIS Emma), request to get connected with an online agent and discuss the issue with them.

Also, I suggest you add your case updates to the 2024 Timeline spreadsheet to give us a better insight into the case progression.
Okay, thanks for the information. The SMS only sent me the receipt number, not acceptance.
I actually heard now I can request expedite processing to fix the USCIS error. I should figure out how to do that though. I have nothing in hand yet.
I tried Emma. It does not connect me to live agent!! I'll try again and again.

Hello! I don't know. How do I find out?
go to this link:: On the bottom of the page, enter your zip code. It will show you what your field office is.

Hello. I got selected for DV 2024. I got married after i got selected . Me and my husband are living together in United states . Now its time to file i435. My question is :
Do we both have to file i435?
And is it the same DV approval letter that my husband submits too?
We already paid for 2 person for AOS.

1. Yes.
2. Yes.

p.s. Take a look at the AOS process spreadsheet, link in the signature section of any of my posts, or on the first post on page one of this thread. That spreadsheet will help you a great deal.

p.s.s. It is I-485, and not I-435.

You’re missing some pertinent information on the spreadsheet, some of which are highlighted in red. I’m sorry I cannot comment on your case without you providing the requested information.
Hello, I made an adjustment to the table. What can you say about my case? Thank you so mush!
