DV 2023 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Only

1.Would they let you know before hand if you need to bring an i-134 to the interview?
2. If the answer to the first question is no, what happens when the IO asks for it but you don’t have it?
1. Sometimes they do, and sometimes they do not, as you would have seen from a couple of posts above from @megha_ regarding her interview experience today.
2. You will be given some time to present it. If you're unable to do so within the deadline provided, then you should be expecting a case denial.

Yes, for some FOs. Also for some applicants whose background check clearance is pending, it may take a bit longer. You can initiate a congressional case inquiry assistance at this point though.
Hi MOM,
I would like your advice on this.
It has now been 110 days since I gave my biometrics and have not heard anything yet.
I did a congressional inquiry as suggested and they were very helpful. On June 21st, the congress office emailed me and said that my case is pending review at the Brooklyn Field Office and was informed that my application is in queue and has not been overlooked and will keep me posted if any updates become available.
I have called USCSIS almost every other week and two officers mentioned that my case is processing as usual and I have to wait till i am called for an interview. They said that if I did not hear anything from them before August 28th, to inform them and then they can raise a ticket.

I am not sure if I should just wait or follow it up back and forth.

Your advice will be much appreciated as always.
Thank you!

I honestly don’t think there’s anything else you can do at this point to move the needle. If you take a look at the Timeline spreadsheet, you’ll notice there are two other cases with your FO (filed before you by the way) who are also still waiting for the next update. You’ve utilized the available resources to bring attention to your case, your FO has acknowledged their awareness of your case.

If you’re desperate enough, the other options you could explore include include making a nonscheduled visit to your FO on your own and hope the security guards will let you in. You can also look into hiring a lawyer, if you’re able to secure one that can get you into the FO without an appointment. This will need to be a highly experienced immigration lawyer with enough connections who is willing to visit your FO with you though.

Hey guys, I did my bio 4 days ago, and the case is still with NBC (National Benefits Center). Is there any estimation of the time it will take for the case to be transferred to Field Office?

The case should already be at the FO regardless of what you were told by the agents, I wouldn’t put much thought into what they said.

Is there any limitation on how many times we can talk with an Emma USCIS agent per week?
I mean the USCIS agent
While there's no limit to how many times or how often one can or should contact the agents, I believe there's an expectation for making a judgment call on this. Calling/chatting up the agents every day for instance to hear the same information, or some conflicting information makes no sense to me. Persistent calling is one of the reasons why some of the agents end up providing useless information IMO (considering all calls are logged and each agent is able to see the notes from previous conversations that took place).

Hi Mom After completing my interview a month ago today my congress office got a reply from USCIS office. USCIS told that they sent addition document to KCC today morning. Once USCIS gets response back from KCC they will make a final decision. What does that mean ? Should USCIS need to send documents to KCC as well ?

This is not a typical step/part of the AOS process. Maybe USCIS noticed some discrepancy in your application and your KCC file, and they're trying to gather whatever additional information/clarification they may need in order to adjudicate your application.

Hi Mom, while I filled the initial DV lottery form my passport number was different. My passport date got expired and I renew my passport. I mention my new passport number in DS260 form as well. At the time of interview I also gave both of my passport to Visa officer saying I have new and old passport. My I-94 has been updated to New passport No as well. Can that be a problem ?

There was no passport requirement in DV23, so you couldn't have put old number in your eDV... Anyway, it's not a problem to have two passports. You should have sent photocopies of both (especially that the expired passport had your visa) with your AOS package.

Hi Mom, Handed over the I-134 in afternoon (I got a LPR friend to sign it). Now, status changed to 'New Card Is Being Produced'.
I’m happy for you. Congratulations and thanks for the update.

Don’t forget to update the Timeline spreadsheet if you’re yet to do so.

Dear Mom, I received the receipt via Email.
Can i file i-485 without photos of me?
Will take the photos with me to the interview
Good to know you got the receipt. Thanks for the update.

Why have you not taken your required photos by now? This is not the point in time in which to be sending an incomplete package, just so you know. If you go to CVS or Walgreens for example, I'm sure you can obtain same day passport photos.
