DV 2023 All Selectees (Consular Processing - CP)

Lovely friends, I recently received an email with the date of my interview, and I wanted to thank the person here that helped ease my stress by answering my questions a few weeks ago. Today, I registered my delivery address on the embassy website by creating an account and filling out a form. However, the dashboard on my account still says that no interview is scheduled, and I'm not sure if I need to fill out any other form besides the delivery address registration. Is it okay if it still says that no interview is scheduled, and is the interview letter from KCC enough? I've checked all the other options and it seems that they are mainly for rescheduling an appointment after a refusal or something similar.

It doesn't matter what your dashboard shows. All you need to enable you attend the interview is the KCC issued IL.

Hello, I just received my interview letter from KCC but how can I confirm that I am going to attend the interview? Is it only by creating an accounting and updating my profile or is there an additional step I should be doing?

Hi guys, I submitted my ds-260s in early July, but yet to be processed. Is this normal? I had the impression that it takes 3-4 weeks to process, but mine has taken longer, very distressing.

The 2NL will tell you all the steps you need to take. For example, it will tell you to confirm your attendance through an email address that they will provide in the letter.

BTW, there are 2 letters that you get. One is a download from the status page, it is generic, but has all your details and the time of appointment. The second one will come from the embassy, and will give you more embassy specific instructions, including how you should confirm your attendance. (This is based on our experience at one AF embassy)

Hope that helps.

I am not sure if there is a formula on how long it takes. But, for DV2022 I know people that submitted early September 2021 and got their DS 260 processed around May/June 2022. I hope this helps.

I know it is frustrating, but sometimes one has no control over these things. I still don't find any logic in processing a form that is completed online. Probably there is a lot that we do not know. Good luck.

Thank you for your reply. But I haven't received any of those letters you mentioned. I only received the date and location of my interview without instructions to confirm my attendance. Im not sure what to do next :/

9-10 months for an online thing to be processed ? Wow just wow. It means that the ones who submitted late octomber or november doesn't stand a chance.

It absolutely does not mean that. Please be careful with posting personal conclusions which can lead to unnecessary panicking for others.

Actually if there are discrepancies like this it's hard to predict tho, but yeah I don't want to panic anyone just trying to be realistic somehow. Anyway as you said a lot of times it depends.

The 2NL does not tell you “all the steps you need to take or things like confirming your attendance through an email address that they will provide in the letter. The 2NL only informs you of date, time, embassy name, for scheduled interview.

Some embassies do send a follow up email with additional details/information. You however need to proactively check your US embassy website for instructions to DV selectees.

Which is precisely the reason those highly familiar with the process refrain from predicting. You just have to keep monitoring, wait and see, while keeping your fingers crossed.

You need to stop comparing apples and oranges please. Did the post you’re referencing submit the DS260 for the first time with CP selected after making the DV administrative fee payment like you did? Why would KCC stop processing a DS260 form that says CP and has not followed up to indicate they’re switching from CP to AOS?

This is the answer I got from KCC today when I inquired about my DS submission. Should I worry about the second part when they mention AOS? Thank you

My example could be an outlier, and its by no means intended to make people panic. Be hopeful and wait...I think. I hope your paperwork will be processed soon. Good luck

Seeing as I have no idea as to the exact content of the email you sent to KCC, I cannot comment on the AOS part of the response you got. Plus you're asking if you should worry about it or not. Of what use will worrying about it do you?

So we wanted to ask for an update on our case. It's our first email since we submitted in December.
(We are aware it's gonna be a while until we are processed).
We have emailed back and mentioned again that we are going to do Consular Processing not AOS anymore. Here is the answer I got just now.

We will email back in few weeks for updates

Hello!
Thank you so much for the help offered in this forum! britsimonsays web site is great too!
One quick question:

My status in the DV registration was "single", but I am married now. Got married after the selectees results were published. I am from Spain and my wife is from Mexico. Even if Mexico is not an elegible country I can add her as my derivative, right?

Thanks!

Yes you can add your wife as your derivative.

thanks for the quick reply!

More questions.
I'm EU17XXX. I will be current in March. Embassy is Madrid, Spain. I'll add my wife as derivative post selection.
I haven't submitted the DS-260 yet. I want to avoid the interview in April due to a medical matter.

1. How long should the DS-260 processing take now on average?
2. I've read that 2NL is received 4-6weeks in advance. Exist the possibility to receive the 2NL less than 4 weeks before the interview date?
3. The embassy keeps the passport after the interview, right?
4. Assuming everything goes well and GC approved, the passport is generally returned within 2 weeks after the interview?
5. If GC is approved, the embassy adds a visa to the passport?

Thank you!
