DV 2022 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Only

Dear members.

I am in the process of filling out I-131. As part of that, I need to enter "Class of Admission". I had entered as B1 status last time I entered the US but then I had asylum approved status. Can someone help me with what I should enter the form?

Thanks
BTW I forgot to mentioned that I am a DV 2022 winner.

This forum is super helpful! Thank you very much, Sm1smom and other participants!

I have another question that is slightly related with the DV Lottery, but I didn't find better place to ask it (and not to pay $$$ for simple legal answer).

My wife and I submitted our i-485s where she is a primary applicant as DV lottery winner.
Now my employer is in process of filling i-140 and i-485 for me for the employment based green card.
If possible I'd like not to tell my employer and its attorneys that I already have one pending i-485 as a depended applicant.
Can I do this?

Thank you!

Yes, you can be up front and inform your employer about your pending AOS application if you like, there’s no problem with having multiple applications (with different basis) in the system at the same time. Assuming your employer is yet to file anything, they will most likely hold off on doing so (saves them a lot of money) and decide to wait for the outcome of the pending AOS application. Informing them or not is really a personal decision you need to make on your own

There are reasons why I don't want for my employer to know about the DV lottery based i-485 and I worried that I had to notify it or mention in some other forms. It's good that I don't have an obligation to do so.

Would the Corona Virus Tax Relief payments be considered public assistance: Form I-485-Page 13- Section 61.

Are you referring to line 43 AOS Faq? The wordings different, wasn’t sure if this is what it’s related to.
Yup. Corona Virus Tax Relief payments - COVID-19 Stimulus Checks/Payments - Economic Impact Pay (EIP) = All one and the same thing.

Another question: how important would you say obtaining past DS-2019's are? I do not have my DS-2019 from 2012 but, I do have one from 2014, and since then I have been issued multiple visas in a different class. I have the old passport with the visa in it (cancelled without prejudice) just not the form.

I’ve reached out to the sponsor company that I used at the time and read I may be able to replace through SEVIS.

The instructions says:
"If you previously held or currently hold J-1 (principal) or J-2 (dependent) nonimmigrant exchange visitor status, you must submit copies of all relevant Forms IAP-66 and/or Forms DS-2019, Certificate of Eligibility for Exchange Visitor (J-1) Status, ever issued to you (if available). You must also submit copies of all available J-1 or J-2nonimmigrant visas issued to you, and copies of all available Form I-94 and passport pages with entry stamps showing your admission to the United States in J-1 or J-2 status"

Hi All,

I have a question in regards to my cashiers check.
I have noticed that my cashiers check from the bank does not have 00/100 cents presented in the value. I have taken a screenshot below of how it is right now.

Could this be an issue? Should I go to the bank to make sure the 00/100 cents is present in that format?

Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure it's fine. I would feel comfortable using it as is

Hello Sm1smom,

Thank you for your all efforts and time here. I have a question regarding I-693 form. In it mentioned in the instruction that I should fill "Part 1. Information About You" of Form I-693 myself before the appointment. I typed my answers to the Part 1 question in the PDF and printed it. When I went to my appointment, the Civil Surgeon asked me to select the box in Applicant's statement about language and sign the form on page 2 Section "Applicant's signature". But, the Civil Surgeon didn't ask me to fill the rest of the Part 2 section about Contact Information (daytime telephone number, mobile telephone number (if any), and email address (if any)).
My question is that:
Should I have filled Part 2 Section "Contact information" before going to see the Civil Surgeon or I should have filled it in front of the Civil Surgeon in my appointment with black ink? I am asking this question because it is not clear in the instruction that when I should fill this part. Here is the instruction :
"Part 2. Applicant’s Statement, Contact Information, Certification, and Signature
Item Numbers 1. - 5. Select the appropriate box to indicate that you either read this form yourself or whether you had
an interpreter assist you. Further, you must sign and date your Form I-693 in front of the civil surgeon, and provide your
daytime telephone number, mobile telephone number (if any), and email address (if any).

Hello Mom,

It's been already more than 40 days since the day when my DV payment was cashed and still no receipt yet. KCC didn't even reply to my email regarding receipt. I am a bit confused why it takes so long. Just wanted to ask if you remember any cases in the past with situation like this? If so, what was the reason and when did these people get their receipts back? I am a bit worried because I plan to send my package in December and wanted to include receipt there. I know some people sent it last year without receipt and it was totally fine, they just took it with them to the interview. But what if mine won't show up at all? o_O

You should have completed Part 2 Sections 1-5 on your own. The only section you needed to have completed in front of the CS is Section 6, where it clearly says “Do not sign or date Form I693 until instructed to do so by the civil surgeon”. The CS is not supposed to ask you to fill out your contact information, that’s on you to do.
So make sure you fill out that section, if your medical form already got sealed and signed by the CS, you need to go back and inform them you have some unfilled section of the form which you need to address. The CS will then need to re-seal and re-sign the envelope.
