I think ASAP. If your case is pending more than 90+ days, you shall be able to goto local USCIS field office and take EAD immediatly. I think this is useful if you/spouse are working on EAD.

Now days you are getting EAD/AP approval within a month.. But USCIS is so un-predictable...
 
has anybody got AP/EAD renewal recently. I don't think USCIS website shows correct processign date (March 17). I was stuck around this date for a long time

I got mine ... I don't remember how long it took. And I did not bother checking its status online :)

I filed for AP on 05/31/06 and i received AP approval in hand on 06/26/06

Finally, my spouse and I are both out of the tunnel now. We received my spouse's card in the mail yesterday. I received mine on May 5.

It's been a long journey. I am very thankful to Rajiv Khanna for the forums and everyone here for their support and help. As usual, special mention goes to gp111. Congratulations to all new approvals and good luck to everyone in the queue.
 
How are May-Dec2005 filers doing ?
Most of filers are approved by now ?
I filed at the beginning of May and pending at NC....
 
Name check Update

Folks,
I was very happy to atlast see the letter from my congressman and based on that i sent an email to Offier Bueno saying that my name check has been completed. This evening i get an email from Officer Bueno saying that USCIS records still indicates that my name check is pending with FBI and USCIS will review and send for approval only after FBI informs USCIS in washington D.C.
I have no idea of how to get this sync'd up. Don't know how long will it take to see the approvals.
BTW, i'm leaving to india this weekend and plan to use my AP. Will there be any problems when i return if i get the approvals before then??
 
pklam, how did you send mail directly to M. Bueno ? Does he have a direct email address ?

I dont know what to add, but my suggestion would be to give USCIS a few weeks. Your case is red hot. It just got sent by FBI. Who knows, you might become a Permanent Resident while you are in India.

Oh, that's just sad. On one hand you get the good news that it is cleared, and then you see the bureaucracy come in action again. Just wait, like qwerty said, and don't worry about getting approvals while you are in India. Ideally, if you have the approvals in hand, then you can "enter" as a perm resident and get the first entry out of the way. But I don't think there is any problem in returning with the AP and still having the perm residence.

One more in line

485 applied late June 2005. Pending NC.
I think this is one of the most stupid reasons for being stuck, but feel extremely helpless.

Opened two inquiries with CSC, no reply both the time. Thinking of opening third early july.

I keep wondering how many leads or problem people have they caught because of this NC thing? I doubt anybody going through the pain of providing all the documents and filling forms and most importantly paying tons of money to lawyers and for AP, EAD renewals are problem people.

Just curious about this whole thing and if the government should continue spending money on this program.
NC for other reasons is probably a good idea.

What do you guys think? or if someone has read something somewhere(stats, numbers, views etc).

Got reply from CSC that they are not accepting inquiries - so looks like we successfully broke their patience :)
 
talking about stats, Stalin once famously said "a single death is a tragedy, a thousand deaths is a statistic"

Simillarly, a single person waiting for 4+ yrs and stuck in name check for god knows how many more years is a tragedy. But hunderds and thousands waiting for name check is just a statistic.

I am still waiting for a reply from the congresswoman office regarding their inquiry to FBI.

My I-485: ND 08/05/2005

Had three LUDs all due to my e-mail inquiries and the attorney inquiry.
Contacted congresswoman. They initiated an inquiry to CSC which we got the same response as 'Application is pending FBI namecheck'. Then they initiated an inquiry to FBI.

Will apply for a new PArole/EAD in two weeks.

I did not get any LUD's when I got two responses from USCIS email address. But yesterday I got an update email and LUD saying they had responded to my request for information. It may be the telephone case inquiry I set up with the National Service Center (800#).

And I can predict that the letter is going to say 'We are waiting for FBI to clear name check'. But who knows ... let's see.

I have already extended my EAD/AP for a year.
 
2 LUD's with no message change

It could be the various inquiries I have initiated, but there were two new LUD's after the one on 7/3 - 7/4 and 7/5. No message change on 7/4 and 7/5.

Two of my buddies whose files were transfered to TSC got their cards (ND ~ Nov 05). I think the "pending FBI namecheck" response is such a cliche and it's juts an excuse for CSC...
