Yes, that was my point as well. The "2 months leap" could indicate that more new cases get stuck in NC, and so there is less workload on NSC. If there is less workload for NSC, processing dates would advance fast, just as they did. I do not have any official info on FBI slowing down, though, it's just my [educated] speculation.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the date. The last time NSC updated was on Dec 18th. And now its about a month. And also more than 2 weeks into the new year. Probably there are not many cases around June, July time under EB categories.
Did you find out your Name Check status? If not it may be a good time to take Infopass and see. If your NC is cleared you should expect I-485 approval anytime now.

You may call USCIS at 1-800-375-5283 then press 1-2-2-1 then talk to a customer service rep. and they will help you to start a service request.
Also, you may want to schedule in INFPOASS online (there is link in the USCIS web site). At INFOPASS appointment, most officers can tell you certain issues such as pending name check or RFE, etc... Good luck.

So I made a phone call again to ask about my case coz I got worried about the 2 LUDs that I got 2 weeks ago, and I was lucky to have a nice lady who told me that the officer put the case on hold for security check. So I guess (hope), everything looks allright otherwise (no RFE). Now, I will just keep a low profile and wait, ...., and wait! Good luck to everyone!

I made an INFOPASS on 12/11/07. Today I just called NSC and got an update. She used the term "security check", I assume it is the same as NC. I made similar calls in the past but they did not give any info. I think, they did today because, my case is now officillay outside the processing times or the officer was just too nice. By the way congratulations for bypassing this hurdle so-called "name check". You will likely get approval within few weeks.

PD Sept 29th 2003
Called USCIS today, she said i'm outside normal processing time. She opened a referal? What do i epxect to happen, i see most people in here have filed their 485 either in 2005 or early 2006. Is there anyone with a 2003 485 date?

I did check my name status after my I-140 was cleared by the end of December. The officer told me that my (and my spouse's) name check was cleared within a month from application. I don't know what to say. I dread the worse but at the same time, I know I am in good company.
Anyway, I called and started a Service Request. The lady was firm but polite. She told me that I should hear back within 45 days. I will keep you guys posted (even if they don't contact me). So, it is 44 days & 1 minute & 3 seconds....

If you open a service request, they will send you a letter explaining the reason for the delay (the ideal case). Of course, they may not respond or they may give a very nonspecific reason, such as "further internal review is required". Did you inquire about your name check? Also, I am assuming that your PD is current. Most of the pending cases are due to pending NC or retrogression. There are few cases that may have fell through the cracks, though. So, my advice: get a service request and schedule an INFOPASS and see what they tell you. Good luck.

I would advise you give it a try. Call USCIS at 1-800-375-5283; then press 1-2-2-6-1; then enter your LIN number followed by 1 for correct; then press 3-3-1 and hopefully you'll hit another nice lady/man. Let me know how it goes.
That is correct. But I still tried, since I had nothing to loose. I mentioned to the lady that I wanted to initiate a service request and she agreed and started that for me.dstu said:
