New Processing Times

Yes indeed I-485 for NSC is showing July 13, 2006.

What does that mean to you?

It means that if your RD is June 13, 2006 or earlier and you have not received and RFE or approval you can call 800-375-5283 and put in a service request.

USCIS will respond in writing with a reason as to why your case has not been approved or if there is no reason they will likely approve. Please note that some people that have done this have on occassion never heard back from USCIS so a follow up may be required.

Our tracker has a pretty long list of people with RD prior to the latest processing date. Please update us with any info you may get from your follow up.

They are processing July 13 cases. My notice date was 6/27 and I saw 2 LUDs on 12/29 and 1/3 for my I485. They likely worked on the case and closed back as NC is still pending. Since yours is filed before June 13, I would call USCIS and initiate a service request. Otherwise, you may schedule an INFOPASS and ask about the delay.

acceleration

They moved processing dates for more then 2 months (05/06/06 to 07/13/06) in less then a month. I'll take that any day :cool: .
This is refreshing.
Go NSC go

Any movement forward is good but does not help those under stuck name check.

The only gain for those stuck in name check is to get an official inquiry opened and get confirmation from USCIS about this. Preserve the report and use it for WOM.

Remember that USCIS does not account for FBI-stuck cases when calculating current processing dates and backlogs, just like they do not account for retrogressed cases. So, this jump forward could mean that FBI has paused processing new requests. I hope it means they're processing older backlog, and not that almost all new requests get stuck.

i hope that ur theory is wrong. did u hear about this anywhere that FBI stopped working on namechecks or it is just a theory u came up with?

Surprised

I am a little bit surprised. I filed on June 21. When I took the infopass in late December the officer told me that my name check was completed in July. And I don't have any LUD's whatsoever in my I-485. At the same time, many of the members in this forum have a filing date prior to July 13 and have not posted any developments with their cases (which apparently means they didn't have any news). What the f&^k is going on? What is Nebraska up to?:(

Since the NSC I-485 processing date is now July 13, 2006 and my filing date was June 13, 2006 I called the National Service Center today and filed a service request. The guy who I spoke with was very courteous and he asked several questions (e.g. alien number, receipt number, address, phone, lawyer's address and phone, etc.). When he was done collecting information, he gave me a "referral number". If I have not heard from them in 15-45 days, I am to call back and use this number to obtain updates.

Does anybody have any idea why NSC seems to have "leapfrogged" over me in their processing? My I-140 was approved almost exactly 6 months after it was filed and the process was in sync with the processing dates posted. The fact that my I-485 is outside the processing time is causing me some anxiety.

I find it very surprising that the I-485 processing shot forward by 2 months given all the holidays during the last month (Christmas, New Year's, Ford's death, Martin Luther King day). Perhaps they meant June 13, 2006 instead of July 13, 2006?

In any case, I encourage everybody with applications 30 days or more outside of the stated processing time to call the National Service Center and initiate a service request. Please relate your experiences on this board so that, at the very least, I don't feel alone in my frustration.

Good luck to all!

Friends, It is sort of easy to explain this "2 months leap". USCIS does not consider the cases pending for NC (and of course non-current cases) in their estimation of processing time. They have approved cases dated after July. In fact I saw NSC approvals for I-485 cases filed as late as November. It is very simple: you clear your NC and get GC in 1-2 months. Please note, that the purpose of these processing times is to show that they are within the six months target..

We are in the same shoes. I believe the date was probably mistaken (intentionally or not). Here is why:
Nebraska has been nervously slow in normal season, let alone holidays;
I have done research on both I-140 and I-485 threads and the most recent approvals have RDs back in May and June (only 1 recent I-140 approval on July 1 was the exception);
Usually, there are approvals with RDs later than the date announced by USCIS (as there are guys whose applications were picked randomly earlier than the rest). So far I have not seen approvals with July dates. July 13 seems to be unrealistic.
I like to believe it this way :)

Congratulations

Congratulations on your approval!

EAD Approval

I got an e-mail yesterday night that my EAD card production is ordered. Look at the details in my signature. It took 2 months 10 days from the received date for approval.

Yes, there have been 1 or 2 lucky guys who went away smoothly, but we should be willing to consider the general trends in applications and approvals. In addition to that, USCIS has never considered cases pending for NC in their estimations. I still believe there should be something wrong the the new time Nebraska announced.

p.s. Did you notice that the guys with RDs in June are making this thread "hot" today? I am at work and yet, I just can't work now. Under pressure.....

Congratulations

Thanks
