FP Notice received

Finally got the FP notice today. I dont know if it was the query which was opened last week or regular processing. My appointment is in the second week of Feb. The notice wants to bring (naturalization applicants) "Alien Registration card". Is this the I-94 card or any other card?
 
If it is the FP notice for I-485 application, take your Driving License or Passport as a proof of your ID.

What does this mean?

What is the need for a card for I131 ?

On January 20, 2007, we mailed the document we manufactured based on our earlier approval of this case, and mailed it to the address on we have on file. You should receive the new document within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service.

If you have questions or concerns about your application or the case status results listed above, or if you have not received a decision from USCIS within the current processing time listed*, please contact USCIS Customer Service at (800) 375-5283.

The e-mail is correct, you are going to get an Advance parole DOCUMENT, which is 3 8" x 11" sheets of paper.

That is why is said "Document other than card" (ie. you are not getting a card, you are getting paper -- because there is no Advance parole card)

it looks like they are providing you with AP document (not card), that is pretty common. You'll get 2-3 coppies one of which will be stamped if you use at the borther.

Hi bigbang2001, Good to hear you got your FP done. You never know how these things help - if your namecheck was not already started, FP could have been a trigger to initiate it.

EAD approval

Hi Just Watching,

My EAD case was approved on Decemeber 20 but I did not receive my EAD yet.

Is there anyway to get EAD card in local office or should I call USCIS to send me another copy of the card?

EAD/AP renewal !!!

Hi Igor_ch, JW and other Gurus,

My AP/EAD will expire on July 23rd,
I am planning to go to India by June last week and will be back on 2nd Week of Auguest. The expiry falls in my vaction time (As this is the time I can travel because of school holidays)

Now the question is
How early I can file for renewal ? :confused:
My lawer asking me $1100 for whole process, Can I file it myself ? Please provide guidance if you can :eek:
My I-485 application is stuck in Name CHeck...what are my chances that I will get GC by June 07 ? ( any presumption ) :)

I'm am afraid I do not know. Anyone else has any thoughts? I would call USCIS first.

You can file for renewal 120 days prior to expiration.
Yes you can file yourself. I would visit www.usvisanow.com. They have do it yourself kits. You may also want to shop around for other attorneys.

Name Check is such a black hole I doubt anyone will want to try to predict your approval. I really hope you do..!
 
I have e-filed my AP/EAD renewals for 3 years now (6 times for wife and I) without problems.

All it costs is the filing fees, plus a scheduled trip to the nearest ASC for photo and FP.

Getting a lawyer to file an AP/EAD renewal is like getting a plumber to replace your empty toilet paper roll.

I just noticed "Replacement of lost Employment Authorization Document" checkbox on I-765. Try exploring that option. Do some reading to make sure you send them the right documents. You may want to start here: http://www.immihelp.com/immigration/employment-authorization-document.html . The bad thing about this option is that it can take another 3 months and is likely to require some fee...

Speaking about local office, I believe they have stopped issuing EAD's.

Name Check and FBI Information

Hi,

I need to share some info with you guys and see it can help us in anyway to get lower our anxiety.

I had my Finger printing done for CANADIAN IMMIGRATION on October 3rd and I received letter from FBI Yesterday. It was verified on december 12th as stamp says. I received in the mail on 1/22/07.

So it seems they are taking ATLEAST 90 days to verify anything. Does this means NAME CHECK CLEARED?

If it does then i hope we should drop down our anxiety regarding name check and wait for atleast 90 days (in peace) after finger printing done. Do we have anyone whose name check cleared in Less than 90 days provided they are from Listed countries. You know which countries i mean.

485 processing

Hi all,
I just joined the 485 forum. My I-140 got approved on 01/18/2007 and my 485 has been pending since 06/27/2006. LUD on 485 is 07/20/2006
The official timeline states that they are processing 485 filed on or before 07/13/2006.
How can I check if my name check has cleared or even commenced? Since my I-140 has just gotten approved, is it reasonable to say that my 485 will start to get processed now?

Do it yourself

I have applied myself for 2 H1-B extensions and got approvals. Compared to that filing an EAD is very simple. I highly recommend you do it yourself. Also when we were in school, F-1 we used to apply for EAD by ourself.

Also don't take a chance on getting it by your time-frame. Just apply at least 90 to 120 days before your expiration.

Infopass

To find out about NameCheck, take an InfoPass appointment. Its available on web. You go to local USCIS office on your scheduled appt date and ask them if your NC is cleared.

Your I-485 probably is being processed right now. If your NC is cleared, you may expect to hear the approval anytime now.
