GrandSportC3, whoa Burgenland to Florida is even more impressive than Waldviertel to Florida ...
Commuting from Burgenland to Vienna for school must have been tough. I grew up in Favoriten and in Floridsdorf, and moved here after high school. I lived most of my adult life here in Texas now so I can't tell what life would have been like there, but my family and friends certainly do live a more relaxed life with more vacation etc. in Austria. It might not be such a bad place to retire to some day in the future. Being an engineer, what brought me here is the more diverse and advanced technology. Funny that in my specific field, there are a few companies in Vienna who are world leaders in what they are doing (but not quite as well as the Texas company I work for, of course!). Plus, no midnight or Sunday grocery shopping in Austria!
