yes u can do it . but you may be questioned at citizinship interview.
you are permanent resident but you got your GC through asylum .dont forget about it .and nobody(non of the immigration attorneys) in this forum can guarantee that you wont have any problems . because USCIS reviews each applicants case in unique way .so act accoprding your own decision .

Its up to you

Everybody is the owner of their own fear. No one, as of today have had the citizenship interview to tell us if going back to COP is a problem or not. The people I know, that have gone back to their countries have come back with no problem. Do as you wish, Its up to you to take the risk.

One of the basic principles of rule interpretation in the US legal system is : "Whatever is not prohibited or regulated by a rule is allowed and permitted" and there is nothing that prohibits a permanent resident thru asylum to go back to his contry of origen.

I demand Justice!

Columbian PR:

I demand a recount! I demand vengeance! Most important of all (after all we are in America!), I demand royalty payments!

I demand remedy for this gross violation of my copyrighted, patented, trademarked, trade dressed intellectual property. Where is the decency? Where is the honor? What is happening to humanity? to Zumanity (a great show in Las Vegas, by the way)?

In the name of the law, I ask you to cease and desist from using my intellectual property without paying the necessary licensing and royalty fees. In order to show cause, ensure the issuance of a restraining order and the recovery of full damages, please refer to the attached link of my posting, dated March 14, 2006 and Item 5 therein which shows my authorship of the quote you usurped and misappropriated!

see :

http://boards.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=206893

For damages already incurred, please transfer $10,000,000 in immediately available funds to my Cayman Islands account. That is how much my good intellectual property is worth! If on the other hand, you promise to kneel and bow before an altar with a statute having my likeness and chant "Cucamonga! Cucamonga!" you will be entirely forgiven and your transgressions overlooked. Otherwise, I will not stand to the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. I will, in the name of charity and good will, execute great vengeance upon thee with furious anger, might and fire!

What shall it be Columbian PR? What shall it be?

WOW...

Thank God...

Finally, people have started seeing the light. Guys, you can go back if you can do it safely with a good reason. Its all good. I went back twice for a good reason and I'm 101% sure I wouldn't have any problem at the time of citizenship. I just know that if I hadn't done anything wrong and abide by the rule, I have nothing to fear, why should I?

By the way the link that brings us to your trademarked, patented material is not working... :D

Who is behind this?

Well I have tried to correct it now.

Who was behind that? My paranoia is kicking in! - Was it the INS? Was it Bush? Rumsfeld? Who was behind that? Speak to me you evil one! Speak!

If you say the phrase is yours, I'm sorry to tell you it is not. I never said I was the author, I only though they where the perfect words to answer the question. I give you all the credit for bringing the words to the forum, but they are not yours.

If you google them you will see they are a rule of a game called Nomic.
Here is the link. Rule 116

So, sorry my friend, no bowing, no vengance, no royalty payments.

and yet it does hurt.

Not yet good to retire!

Alas, I thought I would have retired with this copyrighted material, but it was not meant to be :( I would not quit my day job.

Thank you for giving me the credit though.

So I would not even get the bowing and the dancing? Come on try it. You may even do it naked around a bonfire and the rythm of the dance shall set you free! Dance my brother! Dance!

Cucamonga! Cucamonga! Cucamonga! Cucamonga!

Cheerio

How about salsa, tango or samba

You made me laugh!!! :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

I don't dance naked around a bonfire to set my spirit free, but I do like dancing salsa, tango or reggeton it makes me happy and relaxed.

I would try the fire dance if I had a place where to do it, it sounds exiting and exotic, but you know Green Card holders should think before they act, and since we can't rob a bank, I think dancing naked around a bonfire in not a good idea either.
:D

Thanks to the supreme court: You can now rob banks, and keep your drugs without fear of being deported......

Hi Faysal! We were woundering when you were going to post!

Drugs and robbery still a felony.... and you will go to prision for a long time... even if they dont deport you... and I am sure, once you are on prision you will regreat not being deport it...

In addition, you can say bye bye to citizenship too... and be ready to stay PR forever...

So, robbing and trafficking with drugs is a good idea? I dont think so.

And who are you guys? I don't even know you. Why would you wait for my post?

Hi,
I just had a question for all those of you who got successfully acquired asylum and are now debating if it is ok to visit your original country. I apologise in advance if my query upsets someone, though you can blame my ignorance of the asylum process for that.

An individual is granted asylum by US authorities if he or she can satisfy the adjudicators that he or she is not safe (or fears persecution in any form or shape) in his or her country of origin. Correct me if I am wrong.
Now once asylum is acquired, how would it appear to US authorities that the same individual visits his or her country of origin? Didn't that individual just successfuly prove that he or she wasn't safe there? To me it appears as contradicting one's own successful case. Am I missing something?
I apologise once again if my query upsets anyone here. Nothing was intentional.
