hello every1, i applied for i-485 late last year.now i am in Singapore for business trip.i got a notice for fingerprinting for i-485.i will be still out of country for 2 month's it possible to give my fingerprints and medical out side usa.can i go to us embassy and give my fingerprints.

You can either go to the US Embassy and make inquiries in regards, or call customer service, shorten your trip and respond to your appointment, or request a rechedule of your Biometrics appointment...

But I believe that any applicant who filed a I-485 in USA, has to appear to a ASC in USA, because the petition is an adjusment of status in the USA.
Petition whose beneficiary is abroad generally process their Medical & fingerprints from the USA embassy abroad.

Please call CIS via the toll free number and request a reschedule of your biometrics. Keep in mind that a reshedule might delay the processing of your case. If you don't reschedule you case can be denied.

any1 else had same issue

is there any1 else had same issue .pls share ur experience will be really appreciate if i can get more advices.thanks

Yes, many people have the same issue and as peter said call them and reschedule. It will delay your case (as peter said) but at least your case won't be denied (as peter said).

so that means there is no other option other than i have to cancel my trip and come back for bio.i was hoping i could do it here in asia.is it possible to apply again for i-485 once u r denied for reason like this.if i cancel my trip it will be big lost for me money wise.

kapoorinusa, I don't know whether you called customer service, but I was abroad when I got my notice, and I had it rescheduled, but the delay was minimal. The original appointment was for early in October, 2005, and it was rescheduled for sometime in January, 2006, so I went back to the US and took care of it. In 2 months, I got my Green Card. Not a bad deal, eh? So, just call with your notice number. It's not that bad, and calm down.

In 2004 when I got my FP notice, I was in Germany. I called USCIS and they said they can't guarantee a reschedule if its in a week or a month.

I said screw it since GC was more imporatnt to me than a stupid business trip. I flew in the next day.

Maybe you need to reorganize your priorities?

is there any limit for how long they can reschedule .can i ask them for 3-4 months or it all depends on them how long they will give me.

This is the USCIS that you are dealing with. They do not bend over backward to help you. I would fly home and do the darn fingerprinting.

I helped a friend reschedule his fingerprint appointment in February by sending ASC a letter by registered mail as CIS told him he had to write a letter when he called from Taiwan. So far I haven't got any reschedule letter from ASC. My friend asked them to postpone the date to April.
So I think it's better to fly back. Green card is more important than a job.
