PCC for USA

do you submit the PCC for USA with your initial application, i heard that it is valid for only 6 months, so its better submited later is that a valid statement ?

Hi all,
I have a question on Language skills. I applied on march,04 and got AOR June 09,04.I am living in USA last 6 years .When applied i attached a letter from my collage saying that i finished masters degree in English medium and letter from current employer regarding English skills need to get 11 points to get total of 67.With all you experience CAN I GET 11 POINTS?? OR it is better to write IELTS exam for the safe side .If i write IELTS how much i have to get 6.5 or 7.00 or 7.5 or ? out of 9.

is it possible that your doctor mailed your medical very late and thus your case got delayed?
Anyway, I think you did what you could so just sit back and relaxe for a while and lets see what comes next. Maybe you can fax them the next time around. Let us know what comes next. Good luck

If you have already taken the IELTS mail it in. A score of 7 should be enough but even lower than 7 should be enough to get you 11 points. However, if you have not taken the test you could write a detailed letter (available on this forum) explaining your English abilities. This is what I would do if I were you.. Good luck.

Write IELTS! It is the only sure shot way to get max points.

Moreover if the immigration officer has any doubt about your qualifications s/he may call you for an interview and that will increase the waiting period by almost a year. So why not clear any doubts that the officer may have about your English abilities at least.
 
Landing Question for Novice to Canada.

I have send Passport for Stamping. Will receive in Week or so. I am completely new to this landing Experience.
I am on H1-B visa and would like to return back after 2-3 days of stays in Canada.
Please tell me What Should I do for landing.
- Can I just go to border and Complete Landing formalities and Re-enter Back in USA at same time? IN this case How Would I get PR card to maintain my Status in Canada?
- Do I have to live in TORONTO Until I get my PR card or some other docs and Reenter in Canada?
- Can I Go to Windsor and finish such Formalities, because I work IN Detroit, MI.So, Will come back for work every day.

Any Help would be Greatly Appreciated. Thanks in Advance!!!
 
Congratulations p9k. I am not sure if there is an average timeline for passport request after one has sent additional documents. My passport is expiring in May 2005, is it a good idea to renew it before getting it stamped? Thanks

Hi Johar,

I suggest that you renew your passport as soon as possible. If you dont renew your passport then the duration of the PR visa, when it is issued, will be either the expiry date of the medical OR expiry date of your passport whichever is EARLIER.

So the decision depends upon when you got your medical done, when you expect the passport request and how soon you are prepared to land in Canada after you get visa.
 
Kenny04, thanks.. I had my medical done on Aug 25th and sent additional docs on Oct 18th overnight.. I am expecting PP request somehwere in December if everythings goes well. I am worried about mailing my passport otherwise I would like to have it renewed. Thanks for your time and suggessions.

I don't know if you have indian passport. If so, then you have to renew it before 6 months of expiry date.

havw they ever replied to your fax? or just the pp request was the only letter you got from them after your fax?

FILE BF'D TO : MKW ON <DATE> mean

file brought forward to who? what does the date mean??

I have another question regarding the same:

I just got my Caipes notes indicating that my Bf'D will be in December. 04.
Does this mean that my case will be finalized on that date or they will start doing something on my file from that date. Please reply

I think BF'D should mean Buffalo forwarded to MKW (another location)
<DATE> not known or will be added in once it is mailed out.
Official update of the CIC is tomorrow morning and lets see if things gets updated for all of us.

Decision Made but...

My friend applied 3 years ago and he did his medical and send landing fees more than a year ago. He received a latter 9 months ago that he has to take interview and his file is transfered to NYC. He did not hard anything after that.
Now his on line case status showing Decision Made even though he did not take his interview yet or did not receive any letter yet.
What does it mean then?
 
Your friend need to do the following: Check the status on since decission made could be anything:
Cases scheduled for interview:

DECISSION MADE COULD MEAN ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:
Medical Results Received by CIC
We have received your medical results. We will contact you only if additional tests are needed.

Approval Status Determined
Your application will be either approved or rejected. We will inform you of the decision in writing.

Permanent Residence Status Determined
If your application is approved, we will send you your permanent resident documentation and a letter saying what we need to finalize your permanent residence.

He needs to send a fax requesting the status of hte case to add in some motion in the file.
Also request CAIPS notes. I hope this works for him/her.

Hi Loton,

Do you know the timeline of your friend? When did he get initial assessment? When was his file transfered to NY? I am waiting for an interview in NY and it would really help me if I knew your friends timeline.

Was you friend asked to send some documents in the past few months? I am asking this because at times when the file is transfered to a RPC from Buffalo the immigration official in the RPC, NY in your friend's case, checks the file to see if interview is required.

It looks like your friend should receive someting from NY very soon. I hope its passport request.
 
BF'D - Bring forward

This date is only a reminder set by processing officer to look at your case if no activity occurs earlier. Each time some activity happens officer sets new BF date.
