My AOR said 8 weeks on paper but ,each time i called the # of weeks went up and finally theu said 40 weeks from date of filing.( initial assesment)
I saw another posting and i noticed that a person who filed on apr 28 got his assesment on 12/13 dec.

Going by that ,i should get mine around month end ( i filed 10 may)

new processing times are :
AOR : 8 to 10 weeks
Assesment and medicals forms : 30 weeks from AOR or 40 weeks from Application date.
Interview : 6 months from file transfer to consulate.
 
C-11

After medicals, I wonder if they will hold off sending LP cos\' of the new C-11 Bill?

Any thoughts?
 
Additional info.

They requested for 3 additional documents.
1. Recent police certificate.
 We send the FBI cards and police certificate (local police certificate) at the time of application.
2. My husband\'s educational certificates. Even though we already send those.
3. Employment details during the period of unemployment. We did not understand why they asked for this. We need to call and find out.

If I applied in November, how does the new regulation affect me?

I found this at the CIC site:

Same concerns

Applied on November, 2001. No file number yet. Our case will really depend how they will define the application date:
If it is the date they\'ve assigned a file number - we may go
down :(
My only hope that they stamp the envelops somehow when they receive them, so in this case they may refer to this date as application
date.
Lets hope for best.

Does anyone know that for which dates *receipts* are being received for Canadian Immigration applications?
 
Got my landing papers today!

Hi guys!
  I wanted to share the news with you guys, since I benifited from this board, today I got my papers in the mail. I lived in USA for a decade and got my MS in USA and worked my butt off, still I dont have GC. Atlanta labor still not moving for past 10 months. Any way it took less than a year to get Canadian GC. Since I have been evaluated as skilled intelectual. As I mentioned before the Canadian process is lot efficient and is not by nationality but by your skills. I delayed 3 months in between due to personal reasons. That means the total process is less than 9 months. Process was very smooth and 800 line operators are very respectable, Please make good use of it.

Can you let me know when did you file your application. It take much longer to get assessment letter now.

Interview is waived, but the letter also says \'The visa offficer will reserver the right to call you to an interview, should this become necessary at some future stage in processing\'.

Recieved Landing papers today.

Hello All,
We are going back to India on 25th of this month. We just received our landing papers today. In the papers it was said that papers will expire on Dec20th 02. If we don\'t land in to the country by that time what will happen? Is it a good idea if we book a return ticket to India from US to Canada and then from Canada to India? Any ideas on this? Please advice.

It took almost 10 months for the entire process.
Applied : April 25th
File No: June 30th
Medical : December 15th.
Landing Papers : Feb 9th
Interview was waived. But they requested for police certificate again even though we send them at the time of application.
