That’s extremely low right? Do you think we will hit the 50k mark?Monthly visa issuances for 06/2019 have been released. 5288 visas were issued, bringing total for FY19 to 27506.

I know you don’t like predictions but how far under do you think it will be?Nope.

I know but it’s nice to guess, I guess. Not everything needs to be predicted you know...
I have just checked the Travel.State.Gov website today, there is no mention of the NACARA Program. I guess it is official. 55,000 for DV 2020Spot the difference between last year and this - other than selectee numbers/dates, it is word for word .except for the two instances that last year mentioned 50k, this year mentions 55k and then just drops the number. Looks like a deliberate change to me.
The Kentucky Consular Center in Williamsburg, Kentucky has registered and notified the winners of the DV-2020 diversity lottery. The diversity lottery was conducted under the terms of section 203(c) of the Immigration and Nationality Act and makes available up to 55,000 permanent resident visas annually to persons from countries with low rates of immigration to the United States. Approximately 83,884 applicants have been registered and notified and may now make an application for an immigrant visa. Since it is likely that some of the persons registered will not pursue their cases to visa issuance, this larger figure should insure that all DV-2020 numbers will be used during fiscal year 2020 (October 1, 2019 until September 30, 2020).

/point made and will leave it at that!

You're right. The archived version you linked does mention NACARA either while the Visa Bulletins for the same period did mention the NACARA Program.HUH? That would only be considered "evidence" if you could show that the wording used to say something about NACARA, and now doesn't. I checked an archived version from December 2017 and it is the same. So - whilst it might be true, the link you gave tells us nothing.

I don't think they're ending Nacara per se but I think it's just not using more than a few hundred visas a year now. I can't remember where I saw the stats last and have just had a fruitless search, but i recall the bulge was in the 2000s and by the time I was in DV (2013) it had already dropped a lot.
Yes I agree - I did the stats some years ago - and the nature of the program itself means the number of people eligible reduces over time.
So britsimon does it mean there will be a second draw this October? just asking for someoneHey SusieQQQ - some corroboration from an official source for the theory...
