August 2019 Visa Bulletin

In case there is a second draw, is it possible that the lower selectees get lower case numbers than the ones from the first draw or do they get added at the end?
 
Wow.. As far as I know, the highest CN is AS30xxx in Asia, and the actual number of winners is 15,941, which means that almost half are holes..
 
I just wondered about my number and tried to refer to britsimon's "DV2020 Selectee number analysis".
In the case of Asia, the highest CN 30xxx / Cases 8,390 = ratio? 3.57;
Simply dividing the number of cases by 12 months is like this:

Can I assume that my AS7xxx is current in about December as above?

The diversity lottery was conducted under the terms of section 203(c) of the Immigration and Nationality Act and makes available up to 55,000 permanent resident visas annually to persons from countries with low rates of immigration to the United States. Approximately 83,884 applicants have been registered and notified and may now make an application for an immigrant visa. Since it is likely that some of the persons registered will not pursue their cases to visa issuance, this larger figure should insure that all DV-2020 numbers will be used during fiscal year 2020 (October 1, 2019 until September 30, 2020).

Since it is likely that some of the first *50,000 persons registered will not pursue their cases to visa issuance, this larger figure should insure that all DV-2019 numbers will be used during fiscal year 2019 (October 1, 2018 until September 30, 2019).

I have just checked the Travel.State.Gov website today, there is no mention of the NACARA Program. I guess it is official. 55,000 for DV 2020

HUH? That would only be considered "evidence" if you could show that the wording used to say something about NACARA, and now doesn't. I checked an archived version from December 2017 and it is the same. So - whilst it might be true, the link you gave tells us nothing.

You're right. The archived version you linked does mention NACARA either while the Visa Bulletins for the same period did mention the NACARA Program.

I don't think they're ending Nacara per se but I think it's just not using more than a few hundred visas a year now. I can't remember where I saw the stats last and have just had a fruitless search, but i recall the bulge was in the 2000s and by the time I was in DV (2013) it had already dropped a lot.
