TAMIL_GC,

Did you get your case number yet? We'r in same boat! I'm still waiting for the case number, Last time my attorney told me that File moved from SESA to the offsite locatin of ATL Regional, once it reach the Regional office it will be updated!!!

What's your progress?

Hi powerman,

I haven't got the case number and I don't think, I will get for ever. I tried almost all the possible ways, but no luck. I asked my attorney to contact DOL to get it. He called and got the response saying that this is not the priority for them. I lost all my interest to know my case number. :(

Newcomer

Hello,

I am new to this bulletin board and discovered it recently. As per my company attorney, my application was forwarded to Atlanta DOL on July 2003. From what I have read here and other sites, the current wait seems to be near 12-13 months. Is that somewhat right?

I have not been able to get the case number from my attorney. Also, I was told that it takes approx 3-6 months after that to get the EAD cards for me and my spouse - is that somewhat right?

Just trying to get an idea of the timeframes involved - although from what I read here - it is pretty random! :)

Question : How to obtain ATL DOL Case number?
Answer :
Option-1 : Call your attorney to get case number.

Option-2 : This option works only if you have very few employess for your employer filed in ATL region.
a)Get a copy of the original labor application filed with SESA office.
b) Find out the employer phone number specified in the application
c) call 404-562-2131.
press #1 for Perlabor
press #2 to verify by employer telephone number
continue press #2 to get your ATL DOL receipt date.
This option may not work if you have too many employess for your employer AND are filed in ATL region at the same time.

Worked!

Nice - I called and got my case number! :) Thanks vangaru
Any sites where you can follow time by case number?

vangaru,

Neither of option worked for me to get the case number. Generally most of the georgia state filer's cases not showing up in the AVM when you search through the employers phone number. My company is relatively smaller company. AVM lists only one case that was filed 1999.

The DOL at Atlanta is processing totally at random. I had posted the case numbers and the date on which they were approved earlier in the list.

You can only hope that they process cases fast. But I dont know how that will help.

Many things would be affecting us now -
a) Bush new immigration policy
If that is passed, there will be a huge backlog because there are not enough staff to process the case.

b)PERM
If PERM is released in Feb, and starts working from Jun, then if our cases are not approved by then, we will have to go for PERM or hope RIR completes.

That would stagnate our cases, then because of too fast processing, then available GCs will not enough, and we will wait for our priority dates to apply for i-485.

Best of luck to all of us !!

EB

Also, isn't there a concept of EB1, EB2, EB3 (category Labor is filed under) - I heard that EB1 is fastest etc

Like the Idea

pashwin, I like your idea to track 10 case numbers by each individual and post that numbers next day in this thread.

I'm here to share this idea with you, please let me know the 10 numbers which you want me to track.

I think we are three people now..

To All thread visitors....Please share this idea and track at least 100-200 numbers every day..

Thanks

Dec-17 '02, still says recd in DOL and I am on the top limits of frustation each time I hear RECEIVED word on phone. These are bunch of Illiterate, high school 3rd class workers who are working on our cases w/o knowing basics of software engineering.

Liers!! they have not even completed Nov cases, but I am sure must have started working on Dec'03 and Jan'04 cases....

Prelimnary Approved

My office called DOL today they told that my case was Prelimnary Approved by regional officer???? Waiting for next things.

What is meaning of Prelimnary Approved??
What sholud be done next ?

They know one thing about software engineer

I think they are told that software engineer applications should be processed at a lower priority.

=============

I have a much bigger list at my work place.

In the beginning, I thought they want to delay software positions. But in the bigger list, i have seen a lot of certifications for software positions.

It seems to me they have gone through case till Nov-Dec 02, and then have completed many certifications between Apr-Jun 1 or so.

Even cooks and sales manager positions are getting certified. My feeling is that they certify about 9 in 10 positions and have 1 denied or NOF.

No idea of what they are doing.

When did you submit ur case at DOL atlanta??

rajeevnair,

Don't take it offensive, but please don't post same long list of cases again and again. Pashwin is doing a great job and it is going to help all of us. At least we will have an idea whats going on.

Hey prosix,

No offense taken! But I think you are not getting the point. The cases are getting cleared randomly. How will it help us in knowing what cases they (DOL) is working on!

Check these cases from big list what I have for software jobs:

04396052 17-Jan-03 030.162-014 cert 30-Mar-03
04403050 01-May-03 030.162-014 cert 26-Sep-03
04403843 12-May-03 030.167-014 cert 23-Jun-03

Only if you are lucky, you can get your cases through!

Rajeevnair,

I think most of us know about these abnormalities at DOL center and there is nothing we will gain by discussing that. The same thing happened in past and it is happening now also and we can't do anything.

So by using Pashwin approach, at least we would have an idea whether they are currently working on cases or not, and if they do then what dates they are touchung and things like how many cases get approval per day etc etc

I agree with prosix. We are all aware of DOL's weird way of giving priority they are given to the cases. In fact we discussed about these cases you mentioned 2 or 3 months back.
