365 Completed.

Today I have completed a year since my application was forwarded to Atlanta DOL in 01/07/2003. Frustration is sky high. Hopefully things will change and we all will get Certify one day. Don't know which though.

I would appreciate if someone could call ATL DOL at 404-562-2115 and check which week of Dec they are processing.

Thanks

Any volunteers to check about 10 case numbers every day ? We can start from a range of case no's starting Nov 15th and then track only the pending cases from the next day to see if any cases have been updated.. so we can know any little bit of processing which is taking place ? If you are willing please post a message and I can assign case no's starting from Nov 15, 2002 until Jan 01, 2003 . We need atleast 10 guys

Bush wants immigrant's votes!!!

Here is the interesting proposal by President Bush.

Well, it doesn't favor any of us (legal "temporary workers") but on the positive side, if any of us become illegal by losing our jobs or going out of status, it can help.

This was relased yesterday from White House.

http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/01/06/elec04.prez.bush.immigration/index.html

Throw some comments on this if you already have debated or thought on the proposal.

My thoughts:
1) Today's announcement is going to be just about principles and policy, with no legislation attached to it. So it will be a while before anything tangible happens. Looks like a move to get President Fox's approval and a better share of hispanic vote in the election later this year. (2000 share of hispanic vote: Bush 35%, Gore 65%)

2) When something does happen, going by Bush's past record, he will open the doors of DOL and BCIS to millions of undocumented workers without giving them enough resources to handle the additional work load. Result: 245 i like scenarios all over again with even longer delays. Like any other political move, this has disaster written all over it for legal workers.

Hopefully all of us will have our EADs by the time anything happens. That's the best I am hoping for, not even dreaming of possessing the green card physically for years to come.

FYI

1. I did call ATL DOL this morning and talked to the lady for about 15 minutes describing my very long sad story of waiting for 2 years 7 months. But, didn't help much and there is no outcome.

2. They are (at least now) following the first-in-first-serve basis to process applications. I did ask about the applciations received on 2/18/2003, 3/24/2003 which were processed with in 4 days of reciept. She did mention that they try to clear backlogs in first quarter of last year and are not doing it anymore.

3. Also, ATL DOL is now (this week) processing last week of Nov 2002. Not Dec 2002 as posted in http://www.ows.doleta.gov/foreign/times.asp

gvr123 : ATL DOL informed my attorney after 93 days after reciept of my application. You are in good position with 45 days delay. cheer up

Questions :

1. For those who applications received by ATL DOL on Feb 6th 2003 : When did you file your application with SESA office? I just want to compare mine with your SESA receipt dates. Mine is May 12th 2001.

2. What is DOT code. How is it used? In other terms how is it going to help us track the information?

3. What is AVM? Is it 404-562-2115

Mixed Answers from ATL DOL

Friend of mine called DOL yesterday and lady told him that they are processing 2nd and 3rd week of December cases

She also mentioned that processing for Nov cases has been completed unless there is a RFE on a specific case.

I hope she is right and things are moving at ATL DOL.

hi -- any idea about the work load with reg. dol ?

Hello all,

- Any idea, how many cases they process every month on an
average ?

- How many they had in December'02 and in the following months ?

(I posted this wrongly as a new thread, last time)

regards,
