Hi B. Ahmad,

As you are from Pakistan, I have a question for you. When you filed 129-F, did you include in your marriage certificate in native language (Nikaah Nama in Urdu) as well. I had my marriage certificate made in both languages (English and Urdu). Both of them had original signatures on it. I just mailed the English version of it.

If I indeed was supposed to send the native language one, can I send one before they ask for it. That might save some time.

Good Question

Yes I am from Pakistan,and yes you Have to send a Notarized Copy of your Marriage Certificate in your Native Language. Along with a Notarized Copy of English Translation. INS Transcripts

A friend of mine applied for K3 visa for his wife and at the interview with the mumbai consulate, she was issued a note of rejection stating that a document was missing and stating "Needs to bring INS transcripts for the past 3 years from xxx (Ret)" where xxx is his name.

Does anyone know what "INS Transcripts" mean?

I have never heard of this Unless they are asking For IRS certified Tax Documents Indicating Past three years Income tax Certify from IRS
Besides that I am not Sure you may Have to Counsult an Attorny

Marriage Certificate in the Native Language

Can someone advise me what I should do if I have the marriage certificate only in English(I did not get one in the native language from my state in India)? Should I send a letter along with the I129F?

Is that the Original Marriage Certificate? Or Just a Translation??
If it is the Original no problem, If it is a Translation Then you need The Original in your Native Language. and when you send it to INS you need to have a certify copies meaning Notarized copy.

you send the certified copy of the orignal not the orignal you never send any orignal to INS

Filling the I-129F for the first time.

Can someone please help me explain what\'s an I-130 & I-485 form? I am in the process to file my fiance visa (I-129F -which I thought was the ONLY form needed, along with Biographic Information) however, after reading the above messages, it\'s mentioned to make sure I-130 is completed and I-485 is completed as well?!! Thanks for your help guys.

First of all I129f is not a fiance visa it use to be called K or something now since last year its avalible to us citizens who are married non us citizens with their children to come to united state under this new category, while they are waiting to get Approved by Ins for I-130. or you can file a new I-130 when they get here with your Local office. If you are filing for fiance Visa you are in a wrong Message board, Most people are her with I-129f If you have any questions regarding I-129f I will be glad to answer

bbaba: Thanks for your help. Well, I am a US Citizen so I believe I am filing the right form (I-129F). Please do let me know if I\'m wrong, if so, what\'s the I-129F for?! Also, what\'s I-130? To explain it in simple words........I\'m a citizen and I like to bring someone who is a foreigner. Please accept my ignorance in this matter.
 
No Problem

First of all If you\'re a Us citizen and married to a foreign national and would like to bring the spouse to us there are few Options
1) you can file I-129 after filing I-130
2) First you need to File I-130 with your Local INS office and when you received the receipt from Ins that your case is received then you can file I-129
3) you need to fill out Biographic data form and other forms I would advice you to find an attorney and Consult.
This message board is for your Info question and answers from people went through the smae process.
In order to start your case you need to have certain Documents and stuff.
What part of US are you In???
 
When once you become US Citizen, what would be your nationality?

Once you obtain US citizenship then you will state US!
 
K-3 time line for my spouse

I had mailed the I-129F to Chicago (via overnight delivery) on 12-11-2001 and it was received the next day. I got the receipt from Chicago on 12-18-2001.

The NOA for the I-129F was issued on 02-26-2002. The Mumbai Consulate got the case on 03-18-2002 and mailed my wife the initial package on 03-19-2002. She has mailed the completed forms on 04-02-2002. We are now awaiting the Interview call notice from Mumbai.

I will keep you all updated on the progress of her case!
 
K-3 I-129 Haven\'t received any notice

I filed an I-129F to Chicago almost 2 months ago and haven\'t received any notice.

I know they have it (overnight receipt).

Has anyone else been waiting this long ?
They received my I-129F on Feb 17th. I haven\'t received any notice - nothing.

Should I be really worried ?
 
whether wife can apply for k-3 visa from u.s.

an american citizen(white) got married to an indian and due to misinformation her husband had applied for turist visa and got rejected,and he cannot appear for personal interview nor use drop box for 1 year under this circumstances,his wife who is an american has filed a petition I130 and received I-797 notice of action further she has filed I-797 along with the form I-129f on behalf of the alien spouse.These r filed in the month of march 2002.In this regard i\'d like to know that how much time \'d be taken for processing their application,and when can they reunite.Apart from this i\'d also like to know that whether she can apply for k-3 visa from u.s. on behalf of the spouse,if so how much time it takes to call her husband to join her as the application is pending in the INS.will his visa w be stamped or not? advance thanks for valuable and correct suggetions.
 
I-130 approval before I-129F approval

Hi All,

I filed I-130 and I-129F for K-3 visa for my wife. I have received the approval for I-130, but not for I-129F. The approval has been forwarded to NVC. The approval also says that beneficiary will be contacted by the consulate within 90 days. Does it mean that
my wife possibly could be interviewed for her permanent residency before K-3 visa. Or this is just a standard procedure.

Hi All,

From reading your messages, it appears that I-129F approval also gets forwarded to NVC. However, a friend of mine also applied for K-3 for his wife back in September and his I-129F approval says following

"The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate. Please contact the consulate with any questions..."

From above it seems that in my friend\'s case the approval was forwarded directly to the consulate. The approval came directly from Chicago office.

Has the policy changed lately to forward the I-129F approvals to NVC.
