Please let me know if any of you have frequent travel, after recieving the GC, who are applying for or have already got their citizenship . I would like to exchange notes with you , since I have a total of 7,8 trips even though none of them are more than 6 months
Thankyou

I have had 15 trips total (250 days out of the US) but I don't expect any trouble at the interview. In fact, I already made two trips since submitting my application :)

Actually, if a trip is longer than 180 days there is an assumption that you broke your contiguous residency. That assumption can be overcome in some cases.

And yes, I had 15 trips totaling 250 days but no trip was longer than 45 days.

Trips

I have around 15 trips and a total of 850 days out. Some trips were 160 days each ( three of them), But None is more than 6 Months.

Still waiting for Interview

Were they back to back trips? Also, were you working while on trips?

I have 31 trips but less than 200 days out in the last 3 years.
I applied and no problem so far (longest trip is 11 days anyways).
I'll have minimum another trip before interview, maybe 2 (depending on ID).
I don't foresee any problem since the trips are obviously all vacation or business trips.

All of ye multi-trippers.
There is no problem if the sum total of all the days you didnt see days in US (sun rising-sun rising) is < 2.5 yrs.

( I have <250 total days and nights out of this country ...)

They will also look at patterns ,where you went etc.
IOs will also look at where you went..if for example you went to Sierra Leone or North Korea, they will as well bring lil'Kim Jong Il to whip your a**.:D:D i.e if you went to questionable places, they might delay you.

as others have said, if your longgg tips are back-to-back, they may ask for explanation.
If you have taken several trips just before or while filing N400, they will be somewhat suspicious.

After all, the INTENT of citizenship is you become an American and so they dont want to give it to someone who doesnt want to be here.

I don't even think they care where you went.
There are less than a handful of countries where US citizen are forbidden to go, with the most known being Cuba.

Looks like you live close to the border and cross the border everyday for a walk.... just kidding....:D:D:D

My total number of days out have been 756 so far , and I am goin to apply in November 15th 2008. I will be making another trip before that. The first three years since GC in 2005, I was not travelling for more than 2 , 3 months a year. But since 2008, i had to travel a lot due to my mom's surgeries. In a few months my sister will be moving to India to take care of her and I dont need to travel so much .Longest trip 180 days (Dec 8th 2007 to June 6th 2008) Any inputs ?
