Anyone with frequent travel after GC , applying for N400?

I have had 10 trips but all less than 20 days each and all together around 95 days out of country . but the main problem is I travel to saudia arabia 7 times and three times to pakistan I had an interview in may 2009 but no decision made will these trips to middle east will create delay in processing in my oath / approval of n 400

The length and frequency of trips aren't something that would trigger continuous residency issue. Have you schedule an Infopass lately for an update on your case?

no i have not but waiting for the 120 days to be over . the middle east trips are my real concern . will they cause problems in decision

I travel to the GCC area at least 4 times a year for work. Why would it cause any problem?
Obviously if your background check says that you have been seen training with the Talibans, then it's another story...

Please let me know if any of you have frequent travel, after recieving the GC, who are applying for or have already got their citizenship . I would like to exchange notes with you , since I have a total of 7,8 trips even though none of them are more than 6 months
Thankyou
You are fine. I had about 9 or 10 back to back trips of about 2 to 3 months each. Carry all your tax papers and other evidence to demonstrate ties to this country during that period. i.e, Rental, mortgage, bank statements etc.

What is N-470? Can someone please tell me ?

For a permanent resident alien who must leave the United States for certain employment purposes and wishes to preserve his or her status as an immigrant in order to pursue naturalization.

If you do not know what it is you probably aren't qualify.

How long are the trips and is this for work with a US company?

An N-470 is to preserve continuous residence for naturalization puropses, not preserve LPR status.

They shouldn't be an issue unless you they were so frequent or unless you worked with a non company while in the middle east.

Not more than 3-4 days, unfortunately (a couple of times I did take some days off, brought my wife with me and extended my stay in the area though).
The parent company is not a US company, but I'm employed by the US branch.

That shouldn't be an issue in your case.

:)HelpHelp1,

I suspect that USCIS might be closely examining your case because of Saudi trips. I can assure you that even if you weren't seen holding hands with some Saudi King and walking him to a ranch, someone in the higher echelons of the govt will be interested in your case... I can see everyone here saying that is won't be an issue, they might be right, but I would put my money on USCIS to closely dig into your case before making an approval. So, you should expect them to do all research before satisfafying themselves that you are clear to be issued a US citizenship. If you file a lawsuit under the 120 day rule, USCIS will most likely fight with you too...

Remember that about 80% of 9/11 hijackers were Saudi, so US govt has interest in closely monitoring anyone who frequent Saudi Arabia, even for innocuous business travel. Unfortunately, I can't travel to Saudi as they don't allow kosher food and kosher people.......:)

9 trips with a total of 740 days overseas. 4 of the 9 trips ranged between 130-160 days with 1 to 5-week gaps. I was employed overseas by a US-based company for 18 months. I had a re-entry permit and an approved N-470.

See my signature for my N-400 timeline. Currently awaiting the ever popular FP letter :)
