Congrats TXLCRIR! Nice way to start the memorial day weekend!!
All,
I am very very happy to say that myself and my wife I-485 approved after 4 years 6 months 3 days. My major hurdle were Labor (2.5 years) , and Name Check (1.5 year).
Today is memorable day this long weekend (Memorable day weekend).
One thing for sure, without this forum, I would not have survived. This is rock.
Once again "Thank you all" for your valuable inputs to this forum.
Regards,
TXLCRIR
Do not worry, letter says "Currently in process" and NOT "Pending".Hello All,
I faxed a letter to FL on 4/11/07 and today I received a letter from FBI stating that the name check inquiry was submitted by USCIS on March 9, 2003, and is currently in process
What is next for me ?
Never heard this, but we get the transfer notices "Transfer of I485...", no clue about I140 which was approved back in Feb 2005. Last LUD on it was 3/8/2005??.I just spoke over the phone at TSC. My case was transferred back in March but 140 still has not......!!!
I had started building hopes as my PD is now current with rest everything else taken care of (name check, 2nd FP, LUDs etc).
Also, recently when I applied for 131 renewal (3rd time)( @TSC) and did not send my I-140 - got NOID - responded with the I-140 approved application. I did not know that they didn't have my 140 altogether....!!!!
Can they use this I-140 approved application (which I sent in response to 131 NOID) for my 485 or will they have to get it from VSC and only then they will accept it????
Anybody in the similar situation?....what shall I do??????
Thanks,

I faxed the letter on 4/11/2007 and received letter dated 5/21/2007 from FBI.
My letter to her was kind of simple and filled with personal story which people on the forum may not be interested in knowing. Many othe people on the forum have written very convincing letter than I did. Anyway, following is what I wrote to her.

Re.: To end exhaustion of almost 19 years!
Hon. First Lady Mrs. Laura Bush
May this day of April be the best day in fulfilling the duties of your being - yourself, as a mother, as a wonderful companion of the president and as the most gracious first woman of this great nation. Amen.
Trust me, I would not have resorted to ask for your indulgence had I been successful in any one of my other approaches. I have tried personally through info-pass, FBI, USCIS director, Senator and Congress woman in resolving my pending name check with FBI.
Since 20 July 1988 (the day I arrived to the USA), I have lived my life honorably and truthful to my actions. I have been truly blessed to have lived these many years (was very hard to maintain the legal status) in this great country. Even though bit uneasy I have been pledging oath of allegiance to this country in the school assemblies of my three daughters (aged 17, 13 and 8)! By the way, thank God, they are doing wonderfully well in their studies and guaranteed to be good assets to this country. Hopefully, my eldest daughter will be selected for HERO ambassador program of UNA-USA. She is one of the semi-finalists.
If you can relieve me of my exhaustion of chasing American dream, I will sincerely appreciate. My case is pending with USCIS with valid (but tediously delayed) excuse of not receiving result of name/birth date check from FBI. Following is my detail:
Name:
DOB:
USCIS 1-485 receipt no.:
A#
Date submitted to FBI(if known):
Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Akbari:
seems that the FL way is becoming less effective, but at least you got the response from the FBI. I wrote to both her and the CIS Ombudsman and got nothing so far. Maybe my letter wasn't as good as yours. The best I can do is to cross my already-crossed-many-times fingers, I guess.
Good luck, because as you see from the previous response it's not a bad sign at all.
