Any LA Transfer cases/Interview dates?

Case transferred to LA but nothing about interview

HI All,

My case got transferred to LA and they are asking for PCC, FBI and Medicals. The letter says "Upon recieving the above we will continue processing your application". The letter also says if above documents are not received in 90 days, they will make decision based on the information they already have. Does it mean my interview is waived?

Thanks in advance.

Yup, looks like interview was waived. Since they asked for PCC, FP and medicals, I think they may not ask for interview. In my case they told me wait on medicals until they announce my interview date. So you better send them as soon as possible. I think for PCC and FBI, if you include the deadline date and self addressed FedEx or postal cover, they will send you faster.

Sree

Thanks for response Sree. I got my PCC from Indian consulate in SFO pretty fast since I got my passport renewed here. There is some confusion on how to get finger prints for FBI in california sine now every dept. has shifted to live scan. If anyone has done finger prints from Califonia recently please post here.

Try in UPS store. They do fingerprinting .....but only some UPS store does it....so check out in their website to find out the store does it....

Successful Interview in LA

Hi Guys,

I just want to let everyone know that we had a successful interview today at Canadian Consulate, LA. The Interview officer is very nice and asked me about my background, Education, my experience...etc. I was asked to pay the Landing fee and I have paid the Landing fee both for me and my wife. But our medical report was not reached to LA office yet(we have given our medicals in Jan 2nd week). As soon as LA office receives our medical report, the officer is going to finalize and notify us for passports to stamp the visa. After a long waiting, this is a good relief for us.

As I posted earlier my I-140 got approved for my US GC and don't know how long I need to wait to file the I-485.

Special thanks to Nijil and Kenny04!!!

Thanks for everyone who replied to my posts and good luck to everyone!!!

It depends on your case. If you order CAPSI notes, then you can find out or at least you can guess why you called for the interview.

Some times LA office may waive your interview. If the interview is needed, then they will send you a letter three months in advance. So again it may take anytime between 3 months 2 years. For me it took 15 months after they transferred my file to LA.

Good luck!

Please Help!!!!!!!!!
Hi! Congratulations....Can you please help me answering some questions.
....we applied in sept 04, got AOR in Jan 05,they asked for the IELTS in oct 05,took test in dec 05....in jan 06 got a letter from the consulate along with the medical forms that an interview is required in buffalo (we live in california) .They also said that dont get the medical done unless you get the interview date and also that we will not respond to your request of status before your interview date. But to save time we took the medical in march 06,and now we have asked our consulate for the police clearence from our country.
1) Does anyone has an idea what is going to happen next?
2) Shall we go for the FBI clearence?
3) Why Interview in Buffalo as we live in California?

Just to tell you that we have applied through a law firm based in Quebec.
Please help me with any advice.
Thanks in advance

We have applied in Buffalo and file transferred to LA. I am not sure that on what basis they move the files from one office to other office. May be number of files at each office...

Did they send you a letter asking for police certificates? so they did not mentioned abou the interview in that letter?

The reason they said not to take medicals is that, the medical reports are valid for only one year. I think you go ahead (1) get the police clearance from you home country via your country’s consulate office in the US. (2) FBI clearance and submit both. This might take about 6 to 10 weeks. Did they mention any target date to submit the police clearance?

Since you already took the medicals in March 06, they are valid till March 07. If in case your file is still pending beyond that date, then you have to take the medicals again. So hopefully they will make decision before that date.

I am thinking that, since they asked for police clearance, I think they may waive the interview. Again this is just my feeling....

So don't worry and submit the police clearance as soon as you can.

Good luck!!!

Thank you very much for the reply.
We also applied in Buffalo but we live in California and that is why we were surprised that why have they not transferred our file to los angeles yet.No they have not asked for the FBI clearence and police clearence in that letter but they only stated that you are required to appear for an interview in Buffalo. If the place will be other than Buffalo we will notify you 3 months before that.
We have already applied through our consulate in Los Angeles for the police clearence from our own country three weeks ago and will be applying for the FBI also next week.
Any advice or feeling ...please share with us
desperately waiting
Thanks again

Hi
Can you tell us your timeline? Like AOR, when the file got transferred LA etc.
My AOR is May 2005 File got transferred to LA in March. No word yet. just waiting
Yes they do ask for FBI again but don't know what state police clearance is. I think it is just one, FBI clearance only.

thanks

hi beemer

can you tell us exact date of AOR and the Transfer? mine is May 16th 2005 and Transfer March 9th 2006. Just trying to figure out if I am after you or before you in the queue but only if you want to.

As for state clearance have they sent any special forms? I mean do you have to go to local police station for fingerprinting or something? You can call the consulate and ask if there are no special instructions for state clearence.

Got Interview in LA ... Desprately need HELP !!!

Hi guys…
I have my interview scheduled on sep 14 in LA consulate. They sent me letter to get the police clearance done from all the places where I stayed more than 6 months. I have applied for FBI clearance too … donno how much time its gonna take.
If anyone had interviews recently please share your experience … I have applied on skilled worker basis and I’m currently on H1 in US. I don’t have any job offer letter from Canada (is this IMP). What would they be asking me in interview … they didn’t even send me any medical form to get my medicals done.
Any advice is greatly appreciated …

Hi

Do you submit the PCCs before? I mean along with your initial application. I think even if it does not say about PCC in the IA letter, you should submit them (from your home country, any other country if you stayed more than 6 months & FBI).

Good luck!
