Security check...

Since they need valid FPcode3 to approve GC, they maybe reviewing yrs FP and verifying some inconcludent date. Don`t worry about new checks. This FP are going straight to VSC in one or two days. I asked b4 about yr "security checks" `cause, I think, they may have the results in hands. What`s yr guess?

I am not sure about it because I spoke to two different Vermont officers (not the rep's) and they stated that everything looks fine to them and I have to wait for the visa availability (that time I wasn't current). I also got the Inquiry reply one in June 06 and the other one was on 12/12/2006 stated that USCIS is waiting for visa availability and I shouldn't bother them till it will become current. But on the other hand I received a FP notice on 12/21/2006 originally issued on 12/18/2006 for 01/02/2007 without any LUD.
And today again I saw Lud on my spouse's 485 without any msg change.
Frankly speaking I am very frustrated and confused :-(

Message for Jhawilla

Hi Jhawilla , it seems your case is similar to mine. I have been told by USCIS that they are waiting to hear back from some agency. FBI NC seems to have completed. They transferred my case to Newark,NJ in OCt'04. Last response from Newark was that they are activelty processing my case and if I don't hear back in 6 months ( will be over on 21-JAN-07) , I need to contact National Customer Service. What are you planning on doing ?
Thanks!

anupb: Almost the same, execpt for the interview. I`m planing to bother them again in BOS with infopass to find out about my security checks. Last month I went there, the guy said that I don`t have visa # available. I just got the wrong man at the counter.

Jhawilla- Today I spoke to the customer service rep in USCIS on the phone. She confirmed that our (primary and dependent) security check is done. She stated that now our files are waiting because of USCIS work load and I should give them 30 to 60 days...
But my question is I know for sure that they need medicals and job verification papers from us to complete our app. Please suggest me that should I call them and tell them to open an inquiry or make info pass and talk to officer.
To be very frank I am only afraid what if in next bulletin the dates went back again... :(

You talked to VSC or customer service #?
If VSC, how did you got there?

Workload? What workload is she talking about they hardly seem to be approving anything.

This time I am not sure that she was a CS or an officer but she told me in the starting that I should call 1 800# and check the status with them. I told her that I called them back in Oct 06 and the officer told me that as soon as my PD become current they can open an inquiry. Then some how she change her mind and gave the info.
To call them:
1 800 375 5283
#1
#2
#2
#6
#1
hear your status than
#3
#4
wait for the rep or officer

You lucky because all the time i asked about the namecheck there was a "we don't have an access to this information".

I just talked to VSC and knew that my NC has been cleared. But the officer told me that they still need to wait for official confirmation (batch file) from FBI.

I tried yesterday and the officer didn't want to tell me anything, but it worked today. So I think this method is still working but you need to be lucky to talk to the nice officer.

Can you share your details?

Hi HappyHeart...when was your NC cleared? Can you post your RD and ND?

good luck!!!

The officer didn't tell me the exact date for the NC cleared, but it should be sometime this year. I am also asking my congressman's office to confirm the NC clear date. I will let you know when I hear back from them.
My 485 RD is 09/30/05 and ND is 10/21/05.

Today I`ve got the answer. A letter from USCIS, saying that I`m stucked in security checks. As soon they get the results, they`ll take action over my case. It`s almost 4 years now, in a cave with dusts.
Letter from VSC
U.S.CIS-14DEC06
On 18OCT06 you contacted us about your case.
The processing of your case has been delayed. A check of our records stablishes that your case is not ready yet for decision, as the required security checks remain pending.
Untill the security checks have been completed, we cannot move forward on your case. These security checks are required to be completed on all applicants who apply for the immigration benefit you are seeking. We will make every effort to make a decision on this case as soon as the security checks are completed. If you do not receive a decision or other notice of action from us within 6 months of this letter, please contact us by calling our customer service number 1800 375 5283.

I got the same letter but instead of "security checks" it said "background investigation". does it have a different meaning? does this mean stuck in Name Check?
thank you!

Nope, this results comes from an external agency (26) and nobody knows when.

after some research I found this

FBI clearance from the fingerprints and namecheck, valid for 15 months
"IBIS" (Interagency Border Inspection System) checks, IBIS valids for 35 days

I just wonder if this information is correct.

thank you!

It is and IBIS NC can be done very quik in one or two days. But, if HIT is occurred, then it goes outside from USCIS for investigation.

Someone here in this forum mentioned that VSC will touch all old cases, most EB3. This is good. Go for it, USCIS.

I sand a letter to Washington congressmen office a month ago and they forwarded it to the district office .
I just got a phone call from my congressmen representative secretary, about an inquiry made by them, in VSC a week ago via e-mail. They received an e-mail saying that my case is under "security checks"[nothing new] and I should have an answer in 90 days. Asked if these checks are the same as FBI checks, I was told that it`s diferent and can take as long as 4 years period waiting for resolution.
Does anybody in here has the e-mail address from VSC?
