So, your FBI NC can be done ...

So you mean I am not stuck in FBI name check but just some internal (VSC)security check which is pretty quick???

If that is the case and if these internal security checks are so quick then how come I am stuck in these checks since March 2005??

Please suggest..

Thanks

God knows my friend. I`m in your same boat. I applyed in DEC02 for GC and FEB03 I sand my FP1 to USCIS. IF I`m stuck in any check outside of VSC, it has benn for a long time now. I did send a email today for the FBI to find out.

File a WOM against these bastards!!! Your case will be approved in one month. Otherwise you may get stuck forever if dates retrogressed. Just something that you should think about it.

 Letter from VSC
Thursday, April 13, 2006
On 03/07/2006 you contacted us about your case.
" Based on your request we researched the status of this case. We are actively processing this case. However, we have to perform additional review on this case and this has caused a longer processing time.If you do not receive a decision or other notice of action from us within 6 months of this letter, please call costumer service."

I guess VSC needs to clean all the pending cases up to oct06. Good deal!

Hello jhawilla, I also got the same letter about "additional review" couple of days back -I called up VSC and asked the immi. officer specifically about the "additional review" and I was told that it is the same as stuck in one of the "security checks" - when asked which one - was told that cannot disclose that information.

I just called USCIS-VSC and inquired about my NC status. A nice laddy said that everything is ok with FBI and case is pending `cause they`re waiting results from another agency, other then FBI. Asked about the dates NC was cleared, she mentioned that it doesn`t show on her screen.

But Mr. Gonzalez said it makes no sense to blame the agency for a backlog in cases where the problem lies with another agency or when the applicant hasn't submitted all the information.
Of the about 1 million backlogged applications that are outside of USCIS control, 64 percent are for applications where a visa simply isn't available yet; 17 percent are for applications that are still lacking information; and 11 percent are awaiting an FBI name check. Another 8 percent have other issues.

FBI folks are working at snails pace

I just called my congressman's representative on the status of my FBI name check which was sent early August.

It normally takes the FBI folks about 1 month to get back to these representatives. But my representative has not heard back from the FBI since early July.

So not sure what's happening at the FBI and if they are slow overall ie both to responding and even to getting the name check/DOB results out.

In the immigrant proceedings, probably the most important immigration form which I-485 applicant files is G-325A Biographic Information. It is a four-page form that is used by CIA for check ing international terrorism and other adverse information, by FBI for criminal record check, by American consulate for visa fraud record check, and by USCIS HQ for any adverse record within the DHS system. Clearance of these checks is probably the most important phase in the processing of I-485 applications by the agency and people will have to carefully prepare and file this form.
According to the AILA, this form was changed in July 2006 and unless people file the July 2006 version of the form, the agency will reject the filing of this form after one month from now. There are lots of old version G-325A forms in papers or commercial form sites. People may want to double check the form before they file it.

I have been waiting for this name check to clear as well. I don't know when the name check was submitted but I have been stuck. My details are in the signature. FBI does seem to move forward at snails pace!

I was told "additional review" at infopass also in Mar06. Does anyone know what are all these agencies involved? I can think about FBI, BCBP, ICE, CIA and NRC. Any others?

What u need that for? Look in your country of origin.

hope that will: 1. let me know where my check was stuck; 2. move my case from the dusty shelves. 3. prepare my case for a law suit if necessary.
