Am I still covered by Canadian Health Care?

I picked up a bacterial infection and live only 20 miles from Canada. Antibiotics are a lot cheaper in Canada, so my question is, even though I've left Canada 5 years ago and have become a permanent resident of the US, and I still covered by Canadian health? I'm still a Canadian citizen by the way. I'd assume that as long as I'm a citizen, health care should be free. Considering premium or deductibles even with US health care, theres usually some kind of cost at the end. I figure if seeing my old Canadian doctor is viable and not an emergency, I'd prefer that route.

I thought for the same reason that I can go back to Canada and pay non-international student fees. I'm not paying into the Canadian education system but I still get government subsidized education if I go back for schooling.

Contrary to what TRC implies, whether you pay into the system is not an issue for Provincial healthcare.

Nor, quite frankly is citizenship.

The key is living (legally) in Canada.

You don't.

If you want to go back and establish residency, then you will be covered, even if you never pay another cent in Cdn taxes.

So 'cheaper' comes with the price of an appartment.

Health insurance is a provincial matter, as a Canadian you should know that.
Each province has its own qualification rules. For exmaple, Alberta covers you from day one, but Ontario needs 90 days of residency, etc.
You do not live in any Canadian province, why do you expect to be covered by a provincial health plan?

David411,

Look at your posts,

Are trying to live off the system no matter where you are?
