Just this morning liberal Senator Kennedy and conversavtive Senator Craig jointly introduced an amnesty bill in Congress. A major overhaul of the immigration system is probable this year. QUOTE]
I did some digging and found that the bill introduced yesterday by Senators Craig & Kennedy is:
S.359
Title: A bill to provide for the adjustment of status of certain foreign agricultural workers, to amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to reform the H-2A worker program under that Act, to provide a stable, legal agricultural workforce, to extend basic legal protections and better working conditions to more workers, and for other purposes.
The full text isn't available yet as it was just introduced, but I will try to post the summary of the bill when available.
I hope you are right Gilbert - and that this year is a year for great immigration reform. I am looking forward to positive results and I agree that congress is ripe for changes to our immigration laws.
